I learn so much from her articles. 

 

This article speaks of the differences in the "mood" in Israel for its 50th anniversary in 1998, vs this last anniversary this week, 2012. 

 

Summary:

 

In 1998......the liberals had control of Israel....in the press, in their celebrations...in everything.

 

But.....because of the FAILURES to obtain peace, through the peace processes put in place in the 1990's, like the Oslo Peace Accord, Israel has finally realized

 

IT STANDS ALONE......by Itself........and Zionism and Judaism ARE IMPORTANT root parts of Israeli society.

 

WHAT A TURNAROUND in Israel over the last 14 years.

 

ISRAEL HAS FINALLY, in the last 5 years, Realized they have NO Peace partner....no one with whom they can seriously make plans for peace. 

 

And they have been doing a much better job of getting that message out, than they ever did in the 10 years before around 2007. 

 

However.....the World still wants to blame EVERYTHING on Israel.

 

So, in the last 14 years.....the mood (and leadership) in Israel has shifted BACK TO THE RIGHT.  And it is a change for the BETTER.......  I think Netenyahu is the RIGHT man at the RIGHT time, to be the leader of Israel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS....I was in Israel in Jan, 1997.  Had dinner with our tour guide one evening and I said, "but YOU are God's chosen People."  (the Jews) 

 

And I will never forget her response.......  "Let Him choose somebody else!!  We're tired of being God's chosen people!!"   Whew........
