Dear Mathman!!

There are no words to tell you how much your post meant to me!!  I was just bowled over by your insight on each issue you wrote about.  I have been learning much from Donna Danna, even though at first, I did take it personally, but by seeing it is all about sharing the common ground of Loving the Lord, our differences have become the minor issue, and I actually enjoy our back and forth conversations.  Hey, we might even like each other when we meet…ha!!! 

No one could have put it more perfectly than how you said it, it surely hit home with me!! You said:

“Instead, I believe I speak for the silent majority when I say that Iron sharpens Iron, and you are both being EXCELLENT ambassadors for the Lord by patiently answering each other’s queries.”

What incredible encouragement, so wonderfully put!!  You really found the wheat among the chaff in that regard.  WOW!!!

As to your personal note to me…I cried with joy that you could see, so clearly what effect some of those negative posts have had on me.  To tell you the truth, I learned how to be more diplomatic in my responses from reading your letters to other doves that you may disagree with.

You are my idol in that regard!!  I once wrote a letter to you expressing my delight in how well you manage to do that.  I did not post it because it was pretty mushy, but I saved it, so to prove that it was from you I learned this, here it is:

MATHMAN YOU ROCK!!!  I LIKE YOU SO MUCH…YOU ARE SO OPEN- MINDED EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR OWN CONVICTIONS!!!  I CANNOT WAIT TO MEET YOU IN HEAVEN!!

I REALLY ENJOYED YOUR POST TO BRUCE, MAYBE BECAUSE I AM OF THE SAME MIND, BUT YOU DO IT WITH SUCH LOVE AND COMPASSION AND HONESTY!!  IT WAS ANOTHER IMPORTANT DAY TO LOOK AT, BUT JUST NOT FOUR YEARS AWAY!!!

YOU ARE CERTAINLY ONE PERSON THAT I KNOW I COULD DISAGREE WITH, BUT THAT WOULD NOT AFFECT OUR RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER.  YOU SHOW THIS RESPECT TO EACH PERSON YOU REPLY TO…I TRULY ADMIRE THAT.

I think you are so right about giving to others what we would like to receive.  You have pointed out the Golden Rule and how it applies to all of us.  Negative does attract negative, and positive attracts positive. Even when we disagree, we need to show respect and kindness, and certainly learn to separate the opinion from the person.

You have given me so much encouragement by your kind insightful words…the voice of reason in the oft times wilderness of sharing our beliefs.  You are a wise and loving teacher, which teaches by example, and I am grateful to have had ears to hear.
