TO NICOLE / DICK CLARKRE: (Nicole (21 Apr 2012)
"Dick Clark's Death spoke to me...not sure if it did anyone else")Dear Nicole,
I totally identify with what you wrote about Dick Clark…SO TRUE!!! He was the spokesman of the American Dream. He was an American icon, which represented the innocence of the 50’s, when America stood for something, meaningful and good, in this world. His passing seems to mark the end of this country as we, (who are over 50 and born back in the 1950’s) came to know it. How very sad that this country has gone the way of Babylon, not much hopeful optimism left.
It reminds me of that Don McLean song “American Pie”…it seems to all over for this country but the singing!! Also, if December 21, 2012 is going to be as devastating as it’s working out to be…there will never again be a HAPPY NEW YEAR!! What a blessing that Dick Clark will be in heaven with the Lord for the rest of this dark year, and won’t be here to see it decline even further.
I used to watch American Bandstand with my sisters, back in the mid 50’s, and dance around with leotards tights on our heads, with one leg wrapped around the other, so that we could have long ponytails like the teeny boppers on the show!!! What a memory!! How wonderful it was to look forward to a future with so much promise in the most wonderful country in the world!!
Thanks for your letter, I just had to let you know that I do remember and do mourn the loss of such a good man!! Hopefully we will all see Dick again before there is another new year, as we are gathered into the arms of our King and Savior, Lord Jesus!!
Bless you dear lady!!
Your sister in Christ,
Patti C.P.S. Thank you for sharing your incredible dreams affirming that our going home is going to happen really soon!! Fantastic confirmation!!! Wow!!############Nicole (21 Apr 2012)
"Dick Clark's Death spoke to me...not sure if it did anyone else"
Guys, Dick Clark was an American icon to me. I would stay up with him on New Years to watch the ball drop every year. And it was always a Happy New Year. Now that 2012 was his last Happy New Years, I am beginning to think that 2013 won't be so joyful. He represented a period of American history that was joyful and wholesome. He had a great voice and to me represented an elegance. His protege, Ryan Seacrest is not the same to me. He produces the Keeping up with the Kardashian show and these girls all do porn tapes and nude photos. Ryan Seacrest represents a new era of living in the Roman Empire and Brave New World where there is no privacy, everything is on Facebook and Twitter, and no one cares if their nude bodies are seen, or if people are viewing their lifestyles like Big Brother. I don't like Ryan Seacrest and I really don't care about bringing in 2013.
Anyone else feel a sense of loss for the country and the times we live in?
