"NEW INSIGHT INTO THE TWO WITNESSES"

NEW INSIGHT INTO THE TWO WITNESSES

Dear John and all doves,
After reading the incredible study that Arlene directed me to yesterday in her post (Fulfillment of Zechariah's Capstone Prophecies)
http://www.biblewheel.com/wheel/CapstoneProphecies.asp) (thanks again Arlene) I realized that I had been wrong about whom the Two Witnesses are.  I have stated before that I believe they are Elijah and Enoch, but now it seems very clear that is not the case.

Although I have considered a case for the two witnesses being representatives of the Old and New Testaments, it just never hit home until after reading this study. Now, it seems that they have to be. When reading Rev.10 about John and the little book, I had always wondered if John could be one of the two witnesses because of what is revealed in Rev.10:8-11

“And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. (8)
And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. (9)
And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly (10)
And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.” (11)

It seemed clear that he would be, because why else was this said to him.  When would he do this?  But, because it seemed that almost every study I looked into dismissed this idea, I did not pursue it until now. But after reading the aforementioned study it all seemed to become clear.

I also remember reading a letter here on doves that said something about the two witnesses being the Old and New Testaments, and that rang true to my heart, but could not be explained as being two persons, as described in the text of Revelations.
Now, I am totally convinced that the Two Witnesses will be Elijah and John the revealer.  Elijah will represent the witness from the Old Testament, and John will represent the witness from the New Testament.

The Two Witnesses represent two candlesticks (Rev. 11:4). Israel was the light of the Old Testament saints   represented by Elijah. The church is the light of the New Testament and is represented by John. They are both prophets, and the Bible tells us that each will come again to prophase in the end times.

Rev. 11:3-4:
"And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth."

The only thing that may keep us from realizing this truth is that most think that John died, as there are some accounts to this scattered throughout historical commentaries.  But, when we research the Bible, on this issue, we find that his death is never recorded, and in fact there are other scriptures that point to the fact that maybe he never did.

John 21:21-23:
"Peter seeing him [John] saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man [John] do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry [live] till I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me. Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple [John] should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry [live] till I come [before he dies], what is that to thee?"

While exiled on the isle of Patmos (Rev. 1:9), John (like Elijah) was caught up to heaven (Rev. 4:2). John was told, "Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings" (Rev. 10:11).

I have always danced around this conclusion, but never really thought it could be proven conclusively.  After reading the study that Arlene suggested, (Fulfillment of Zechariah's Capstone Prophecies) I would find it difficult to see it any other way. I highly suggested everyone read it, and although it does not mention this as a possibility, it will sure explain how I came to this conclusion.

It suddenly makes the most sense of all and really rings true to me.  I would like to know how others see it, as well.  It felt like another puzzle piece fell into place, while reading an outstanding study that put so many other pieces in around it!! I was wrong about Enoch, and it feels good to know that and discover what fits better and feels much more like the truth.

Isn’t this exciting!!  Sharing and discovering so much as knowledge increases and as our time of departure draws nearer!

HE IS COMING QUICKLY AND SOON!!!

God bless you all!!
