"reply to Bruce Eagles gather at rapture"

Hi Bruce
I really appreciate all you post and I do like reading them. I was once like you and believed in the pre wrath rapture. After I started realizing that we are to divide the Word of God and listen to what is written to us during this time of Grace, it finally sunk into my thick skull that I was mixing the second coming and the rapture.God still has not finished with Israel and he will complete that task AFTER the rapture. You quoted the following 2 verses. Matthew chapter 24 is talking only to the people of Israel not the born again believer. The rapture is not mentioned anywhere in Matthew 24. It only makes since that if the first 69 weeks of Daniel were fulfilled concerning Israel then the last week of 7 years will be also.
Matthew 24:27-28
"For as the lightening comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is; there the eagles will be gathered together."

Ezekiel 39:4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.

But look in Revelation 20 below. This looks like the same supper

Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Revelation 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Revelation 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelation 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

Revelation 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

Looks like the verses quoted are the Second Coming not the rapture. Verse 14 above shows the raptured church coming with Jesus.

Relying on his Word
