"RE: If I were a deceiver, I would write The Book of Enoch"

Hello, John and Doves,

God bless you and yours forever, Mathman!

The proof of what you're saying is manifold.  Anything can happen!

People have long sworn by, "Yeah, when pigs fly!"

Guess what!?  http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=94861&page=1

Yup, the FAA says that, "US Airways did nothing wrong when it allowed

a pig to fly first class from Philadelphia to Seattle in October," quoting from this article.

That happened on October 17, 2000, exactly 329 days before September 11, 2001.

This was also 5454 days before September 23, 2015.

Another strange happening:

A long time ago, somebody created a modern myth.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilgore_Trout

Kilgore Trout is a fictional character created by author Kurt Vonnegut.

In fact, the character was mentioned so many times in Kurt Vonnegut's work that critics were beginning to think of Kilgore Trout as an autobiographical snark.

Kilgore Trout
First appearance 1965
Last appearance 1997

Children Leon Trotsky Trout
Nationality American

Focus on Venus on the Half-Shell,... a science fiction novel attributed to the fictional author Kilgore Trout, but actually written by Philip José Farmer.  It was published in two parts, beginning in the December 1974 issue of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.

This is a picture of "reality reflects fiction."

Indeed, the Book of Enoch might, in its modern incarnation, be a work of the "Ill loony nutties."

Sola Scriptura,

Sola Fide,

Sola Gratia,

Solus Christus,

Soli Deo Gloria,

Mike C.

"If I were a deceiver, I would write "The Book of Enoch""

Dear Doves,

I will not be getting into any debates as to whether certain books should possibly be added to the Bible.  An example of such book includes the Book of Enoch, but I have also heard of many others (such as the Book of Jubilees, Thomas, etc.).

As a prelude to what I am about to write, all I can say is this:  “If I were a deceiver, I would have written The Book of Enoch”.

So what in the world do I mean by that?  If you rely on the Book of Enoch, you may even be insulted right now.  However, THAT is not the purpose of this post.  The purpose of this post is to outline a possible strategy that COULD have been used by Satan.

Allow me to illustrate.  If I were Satan looking to deceive, and in order to enhance my credibility as a deceiver particularly to believers, I would look through the Bible and see if any “unknown” documents were ever referenced.  One example of such reference in the Bible is to something that Enoch had to say.  Ideally, such “unknown” teachings would have been long lost with no one knowing exactly what teachings were contained in such supposed document.

Therefore, if I wanted to be heard, read and listened to, creating such a “lost document” from scratch would be a great place to start for an excellent deception.  In other words, by writing a book that is “loosely referenced” by the Bible, I would then hope someone would be deceived into believing that my “Book of Enoch” is the one being referenced in the Word.  The ultimate deception would be if this person was a follower of Jesus and actually believed it was a lost writing from the Lord.

I am NOT saying this is how it HAD to have happened with respect to the Book of Enoch, just that this is how it COULD have happened.  If I was Satan, this just seems to be a “logical approach” to putting into place a deceptive document.  This would be based on a derivation of Satan’s classic deception of “but did God really say this”, but instead using “but did God NOT really ALSO say this”.

To reiterate, I am not getting into any debates on the Book of Enoch (or any other POSSIBLE “supplemental Bible book”).  That is not the purpose of this post.  Instead, I just wanted to take the time to at least point out a possible tactic that I would personally use if I were Satan and wanted a false book to be perceived with maximum impact as the “real deal”, even by believers.

CONCLUSION:  Is the Book of Enoch a heretical document?  Again, the purpose of this post was not to answer this question.  I will let others attempt to answer this.  The purpose of this post is simply to outline a clever tactic a deceiver COULD use to make a deceptive document as believable as possible, even to believers.

And now, I will end this post with the best and clearest message of all.  My brothers and sisters in Christ, we are on the brink of our long awaited and longed for Departure.  The Trumpet is being polished for use and in the very near future the Father will be telling the Son to call up His Bride for the best wedding of eternity!!  I can hardly wait!!  Soon, very soon, we will be high-fiving in the sky with our precious Lord Jesus!!
