"All Doves - please take the time to consider this post. Comments?"

HI Doves,

After Easter 2012 came and went with no Rapture, that forced me to ponder - where did we go wrong?

I've heard it said many times - Assumptions are the mother of all mistakes! I'm thinking our date error came from assumptions.

I looked again at Daniel 9:25 "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times." I truly believe the interpretation is correct for the Second Coming of Jesus being 49yrs from the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem. So, could the error be caused by other assumptions?

Assumption #1 - The command went forth to "restore and to build Jerusalem" was on the day Israel regained control on 6/7/1967. I've done a lot of searching on the net, to find a date that a command actually went out, but i'm not convinced of any, that was truly the command. So, for now, let's say 6/7/1967 is true.

Assumption #2 - Is that the years are 360 days long. Most have used 360 day years for the date calculation of 9/23/2015. But, what if the calculation should be Julian years. In astronomy, the Julian year is defined as 365.25 days long. Since this is a normal day in modern times, let's take a look at it.

49 x 365.25 = 17897.25 days

6/7/1967 + 17897.25 days = 6/6/2016 Second Coming of Christ? Possible? Does it fit other things and signs we know?

Now let's take that date and subtract 1264 days (1264 = Two witnesses prophesy 1260 days + 3 1/2 days dead. Round off to 1264)

6/6/2016 - 1264 DAYS = 12/20/2012 - WHEN THAT DATE POPPED UP I WAS ASTOUNDED! That is the day before, what some call: "Doomsday2012"! So, if the numbers are correct - the two witnesses start their 1260 day prophesy on 12/20/2012. Maybe someone else can look at this and comment.  :)

Let me just digress for a minute. I and Ted Porter were some of the first people, that I'm aware of, that came up with the 9/23/2015 date, back in 2003. But, seeing things as we can now see them, (today being 4/25/2012) - the end date 9/23/2015 just can't fit with the time counts remaining, imho. That's why I've taken a look at the two main assumptions that got us to that date.

Another comment - I think there is going to be something extaordinary happen on 12/21/2012. You know why? Too many TV specials, documentaries, and on and on I could go! All bringing that date to the fore front! Not that I believe in Mayan folklore or any of their idolitry, it just seems the build-up for that date is like Y2K, but maybe it's actually something this time. Time will tell! Sure was weird when 12/20/2012 popped up on my Date Time calculator!

Would any brothers and sisters in Christ (Doves) like to discuss this? Send your letters/comments to Five Doves.
