"Special Prayer Request to All Doves. . . ."

Hello All Doves,

I'm a lurker, occasional poster, everyday reader and true blue, dyed in the wool believer, in our Heavenly Father and His Son.  I know we have many SERIOUS prayer warriors here on the Doves site.  Hence my prayer request sent here.

I've included a letter, unedited, to my home church pastor and others.  It concerns a prayer request for healing for a close family member.  The following letter explains so I won't go into more detail now.  I only request that the people named in this letter be given serious prayer until I post again with the outcome of their situation.  I appreciate your prayers, as I know they do as well.

I would only make one request more.  Please pray as the Holy Spirit leads you to pray.  I don't mean to be negative or overly positive in that. Only that we never know how God is going to answer our prayers, only that we know HE WILL and DOES.  Doves, we might only be praying for a short time, we might be praying for a very extended time.  As the Holy Spirit brings to your mind the names of John and Lori, John in particular, please continue to pray and ask for healing from Leukemia.  He's 51, I'm 53. Last year God delivered me from near certain death.  The third or fourth time this has happened in my life.  I KNOW He heals.  I've got other issues that I need healing on but for whatever reason God has, I've not YET been delivered.  I might not be delivered from these healing needs in this life.  I know that one day, I will be.  It might just not be when I would like.  One day, it WILL HAPPEN.  I hope and pray that God will deliver John sooner rather than later.  Be praying and rest assured, He may not answer according to our wishes but be DOUBLY/TRIPLY assured, He will and does answer.  ALWAYS.  ALWAYS.

THANKS BROS AND SIS'S.

Thanks brothers and sisters in Jesus name.  The Name above all Names.

Leonard,

I have a serious prayer request.  All of my family have been blessed with being very close. I have a 1st cousin and his wife, names; John and Lori. He has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia.  A scary disease, especially at his age.  However, we know that the scariest of all things concerning diseases is the Name above all Names, Jesus.  I'm requesting prayer for John, who has leukemia.  He's 52 years old, one year younger than I. I would encourage everyone who is praying to remember that it was barely a year ago that I was in ICU with a prognosis of likely not making it.  God was gracious and here I am.  Both are fine Christians and diligent in their faith.  They recently went to some high powered doctors and his diagnosis is 1-10 years.  It all depends.  I say it depends on what God's will is.  Please put John, Lori and the Scott family on our long term prayer list.  One of our speakers at FBC recently spoke/preached on BOLD prayer requests.  I would ask that each prayer warrior at FBC would BOLDLY pray for John's healing.  Contracting leukemia at his age is not the best of times to be diagnosed with this disease, but we know that God is our ultimate Healer and no respecter of what age He heals someone.

First, I ask that each person praying would pray that they pray according to God's will in this situation.
Second, that each would pray specifically for healing from the leukemia.
Third, that God would receive the Glory for whatever way He decides to answer our prayers.

God is good, ALL the time.  Thank you for each person who prays over the coming weeks.  We know that God heals and that He wants to heal.  Be sure that each of us, as we pray, to tell God that we thank Him for however he brings healing to this family.

Thanks to all for your prayers.  I'll update as I know.

To the others I've included in this prayer request besides my church family.  Thank you for praying.
