I agree that Job is used as an example.  The example of Job is, in fact, a condemnation of Satan as he should know better than Job how to behave.

I was led to go beyond the example and think of the heart of God.  While Satan’s evil has its own purpose, I believe God ultimately would have the restoration of truly all things.  I believe it is equally clear the turning of Satan’s heart is unlikely.
 
The heart of God is what I feel comes out by offering Job as an example to Satan.
