You mentioned something that caused me to think and to wonder about something else.

I was wondering, since all the people who used to speak Koine Greek as their own language, are long since gone - that the LORD knew that that the beast wasn't coming in their day - that it may very well be in our day that the beast shows up - why would the LORD only make the number of the name discernible to people who lived 1900 year ago, but indiscernible to people in the days that it will happen

I was wondering whether the number of the name of the beast will be something that the people living in that day will be able to know? Perhaps it will be in some way that no one knows yet, but will be obvious when the time is right - that it may be simple enough so that they who have wisdom, rather than an advanced education in the classic languages,  will be able to count the number of the beast? Wisdom, rather than cunning, wisdom rather than education, wisdom as different from knowledge - wisdom from the LORD - wisdom given to average believers?

Could the number of the name be yet something that none of us have even thought of?

Maybe I'm wa-aaaa-ay off-base.

Maybe I have an overactive imagination.
