"TO:  ARLENE -- TWO WITNESSES"

Hi Arlene,

You are correct that Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, which was outside the walls of Jerusalem rather than inside the city of Jerusalem.  So the city of Jerusalem is where the two witnesses will be killed and their deads bodies shall lie in the street in the great city of Jerusalem since Rev. 11:8 states, "And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Gomorrah, where also our Lord was crucified."  Jesus didn't die in cities all over the world which is where you think the two witnesses, whom you think are the 144,000, will die according to your 4/19 post to me at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/apr2012/arlene419-1.htm where you stated,
"My point in sending that article was not to debate where Jesus was crucified, but it was to point out that these "witnesses" will lay dead all over the world when their ministry is through."  And it's really strange that you still think that they will die all over the world because in your 4/19 post to Greg at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/apr2012/arlene419-2.htm you posted an article from http://www.herealittletherealittle.net/index.cfm?page_name=2-Witnesses-in-Revelation and the author of that article thinks their bodies will be left to rot in the streets of Jerusalem as shown below:

"Such will be the hatred of the Antichrist-worshiping masses for these 144,000 witnesses that their bodies will be left to rot in the streets of Jerusalem after they are executed by the Beast. The world will be so glad to see these two groups of witnesses slain that they will declare a global holiday and rejoice over their deaths. But their defeat is not the end of the story."

The first time we see the 144,000 is when the 144,000 from the 12 tribes of Israel are sealed in the forehead according to Revelation 7. The tribe of Dan is not mentioned at all, and is replaced by Manasses (Joseph's oldest son) rather than being replaced by Ephraim (Joseph's younger son).  Then the 144,000 are mentioned next in Rev. 14 where they are singing the new song before the throne of the Lord. The Bible doesn't specifically say what the 144,000 are doing between the time they are sealed and the time they are seen before the throne of the Lord singing the new song.  So it's another theory that the two witnesses are the 144,000 because the Bible does not come out and say that they are the two witnesses in Rev. 11.  The Bible doesn't say whether the 144,000 ascend into heaven after first being killed or if they never die and ascend into heaven although the two witnesses are killed, resurrected after 3 1/2 days and ascend into heaven.
