Greetings Patti C.,
I can’t take credit for this study but it’s been so long ago I don’t remember where I got it and there was no mention of who wrote it.
What about Elijah and Enoch??
Most point to Elijah and Enoch because of the myth that they never died but were translated directly to heaven. This myth makes Yahshua a liar (see Jn 3:13) and shows ignorance of the complete scriptures. They quote Mal 4:5-6 as support unaware it was fulfilled almost word for word in Lu 1:17. Hebrews chapter 11 specifically tells us Enoch and all the prophets including Elijah “all died in faith, not having received the promises) (verse 13).
Elijah was taken up into ‘shaw-mah’- yim’ (Strong’s #08065 heaven, air, sky, atmosphere, etc.) but not into the third heaven mentioned by Paul where Yahweh and the angles are. Elisha reluctantly sent out a search party “lest perhaps the Spirit of Yahweh has taken him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley." Elijah was transported by God just as Phillip was in Acts 8:39. Several years later Elijah (his location is not given) wrote a letter (2Chr 21:12-15), the contents showing it was written after the events had transpired and before the plague struck.
Ps 89:48 What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death?
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die
Because God didn’t include all the details with Enoch and Elijah it opens it up to speculators with private interpretations who ignore the scriptures which debunk their theories.
Shalom,
David
