Matthew 24:27 (this is the cause of Matt 24:28)

"For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be."

 

Matthew 24:28 (this is the effect of Matt 24:27)

"For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together."

 

The coming of the Son of Man will be 'the event' that causes the eagles to gather together over the dead carcasses of the Gog-Magog army on the mountains of Israel. The Gog-Magog War in Israel will begin shortly before the coming of the Son of Man to rapture His Church/bride , at which time He also kills the Gog-Magog army on the mountains of Israel and "shortens" those days of great tribulation in Israel for the sake of the elect.
