I ran into the same problem and that's why it took me two e mails to John because the first one was blank down to the next section. So what I figured out is that you can copy text but stop by sections before you get to the break at the non text boxes and then paste just that much in your word doc and come back for the next section.
 
Hope that works. But just in case this is a book called "Our Great Seal" by E. Raymond Capt and is available along with lots of other books by him.
