Back in the 1990’s, I read a study that came up with the same understanding which you are learning.  It was certainly not a popular view to see Israel as Mystery Babylon, so I am pleased that you are seeing some of the same things.   God uses words for a reason.  The woman, the harlot…., all refer to his wife.  Does that make Israel awful?  No, she as a nation made a choice and are currently lost from the purpose of what God called her to.   Many believers, stand apart from the greatest calling they can have on their life as well- To be transformed into the image of His Son.  Israel was to be transformed while she learned to walk as the wife of Jehovah.  New Testament believers are to be transformed during their life time under the direction and power of the Holy Spirit.

We believers are awaiting the complete transformation in heaven but it will be based on how much we allowed the Holy Spirit to cause transformation in our lives on this earth. Than Israel will receive her transformation during Christ’s reign here on the earth.
