"Peace and Safety"

In 1st Thessalonians 5:3 we read "For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."  Who are the they? They are not the Church because Paul says we, (Christians), are gone: "Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness." Verse 5, and "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ," Verse 9.

The they has to be those who are the unsaved; both Jew and Gentile.

Why would the unsaved be so happy saying "peace and safety?  Anyone would be happy if there was peace, and what might give them that assurance?  A PEACE TREATY.  Many Christians, myself included, have been anxiously expecting Israel to sign a peace treaty, and that is something the entire world has been moving toward.  Incredible pressures have been put on both parties to sign anything to stop the terrorism and fighting for many years.  According to the scripture, according to this scripture, that day will come!

It takes more than a piece of paper to make a marriage, and it takes more than a piece of paper to have peace.  What this scripture seems to be telling us is that they will have the piece of paper, but, the peace will be very temporary.  How temporary is indicated in this scripture.  The THEY, are still celebrating the signing of the paper peace treaty.  There is no other posible explanation for this paper than it being a direct fulfillment of Daniel 9:27.

One doesn't even have to consider the verse in Daniel as it is all contained in the first verses of 1st Thessalonians 5, right here in one compact little package.  Daniel simply tells us the treaty is for a length of seven years.  Due to the extreme long-term hatred the sons of Ishmael have for the sons of Isaac, Arabs for the Jews, the possibility of a peace treaty has always been elusive.  In fact, very publicly they say today they stand by the original reason they formed their group called the PA, which is for all arabs to work toward the annihilation of all Jews wherever they reside.

After saying all this I reveal I am in a quandry.  You see it has always been the method Arabs have used to destroy their enemies, First if they are weak they sign a peace treaty never intending upon keeping it, but using the time to gain strength enough to destroy their targeted enemy. In 1967 the Arabs thought they were strong enough to destroy Israel, but, they didn't count on God's intervention, an intervention only a few Jews recognize, and no Arabs recognize it.  The Arabs have loaded up for a re-do war with Israel with the express purpose they have maintained through the centuries, Kill all Jews!

Clearly, if this war took place the Arabs would be damaged as scripture reveals to the point that Damascus is utterly destroyed, Jordan, and Southern Lebanon are destroyed. The Arabs would then be in the position where they would want to sign a peace treaty.  So I have like many been expecting this war to take place at any moment, but NOW, things have changed, and dramatically.  Enter the American President.

As many have recognized this president got into office via demonic power; the principalities and powers we are warned about in scripture. He brought the parties to Washington for a meet after which the hateful rhetoric was not shouted out by the parties, but a .... we think their ia a possibility of making peace.  A few days later it was back to the old bashing the other guy and we hold unmovable positions. Next we hear that they are headed for Washington AGAIN, for another meeting with who?  The President!  Pay particular attention to the fact that in the presence of Hillary, or anyone else there is no change from the outcomes from all previous failed meetings.

My current speculation considers that since we know that the anti-christ comes in on a peace platform, and the President seems to be the only one capable of getting the parties to look forward to meeting and saying, "they see a peace treaty in the future." This scripture above indicates that perhaps the sudden destruction is the attack I've been expecting prior to the peace treaty actually occurs after it is signed.  If this is the case then we truly are on the verge of the rapture.
