"The Movie "Eight Below" and Christchurch"

I didn't even know there was a city named "Christchurch" until about 5 years ago. If you haven't seen the movie "Eight Below" and you are a dog lover, I highly recommend it. I won't ruin the movie, but the gist of the story is that one of the men who works at a weather station in Antarctica needs to return there, but he has no resources. After all else fails, he says something like, "'l'll make my way to Christchurch and see if someone can help me." Seemed like a spiritual meaning in the movie and after the earthquake, possibly a significant sign or warning.
