Hello Doves - I love to write, and I know that Jesus gave me this passion. I have been sending letters through the mail for a while now to people I know and don't know to tell them about Jesus. I wanted to send them to you all too, so you can use them if and as the Holy Spirit directs you.I write these letters by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and I use scripture as much as possible. However, if you find something that you disagree with or want to ask about, please let me know. I always stand in a position of openness to correction or guidance by my true brothers and sisters in the Lord. The following is the letter I am mailing today. I already have my next letter ready and plan to send it to you all tomorrow via separate email (they're a little bit long). :)My prayer is that His words in these letters will be used to draw a lost soul to His loving arms. That is all that matters right now; drawing the lost to the One who saves!!
The Ultimate Personal Love
When you think of love, undoubtedly you think of someone you love or someone who loves you. There are so many variations of love – the love for our spouse or that significant other who makes you feel all warm and giddy inside, the love of our children which is a sacrificial love beyond our own comprehension, the love of a dear friend who has always been there for you, or even the love of a pet with whom you share a special bond. In all of these cases, love is personal. It is between you and another person or being. It is a love that is shared between you and another, and in some cases, this love is bound to just you and the other person; no one else. In a nutshell, it is a personal love, and we can’t live without it.
The reason that I take the time to talk about this “personal love” is because many of us have forgotten that this is the same love that Jesus has for us individually. We tend to generalize His love because “He died for all”. Let me say first that this IS true! He died for every single human being on the planet all because of His great and vast love for us. He desires that all be saved so that all can live eternally with Him in the paradise He has been preparing for us since the beginning of time.
But…. Jesus died personally for you!! Think carefully about this… Jesus has a personal and individual love for you. Do you know and understand this? Do you know that you were specifically designed by Him for His pleasure? All things were created by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16). Listen to these words of Jesus taken from the scriptures:
-- I saw your unformed body, and all the days ordained for you were written in my book before one of them came to
be. (Psalm 139:16)
-- I knit you together in your mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13)
-- I know the number of hairs upon your head. (Matthew 10:29)
-- I know the exact timing of your birth and where you would live. (Acts 17:26)
-- You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)
Jesus took the time to personally design you to His desires. He knows you physically; He knows you emotionally; and He knows you spiritually. He knows your heart to its depths. He knows what you love and what you don’t like. He knows the secrets of your life (and still loves you! J). He knows the things that happened to you in your childhood. He knows why you feel the way you do about certain things, whether good or bad. He knows everything about you; He knows you much better than you know yourself. All because He designed you, and He saw your life from start to finish. He knew it all before it happened, just as it states above that He knew you before you were even created. His love for you – yes, you, reading this letter – is vast, deep, and immense. And yes, He loves others just like this, but… His love for you is personal. Take your mind off everyone else right now and focus on His love for you.
Jesus loves YOU my friend. He loves you more than you love your spouse, your children, your parents, your friends, etc. He loves you completely unconditionally. Much of the time, Jesus loves us getting nothing whatsoever in return from us. We take His love for granted and even reject it at times. As the Bible says, we were made in His image, and if that is the case, don’t you think He hurts beyond comprehension when we don’t love Him back? Isn’t that how we feel when we deeply love someone and they reject us, ignore us, or simply do not love us?? I have felt this before myself, and I can say that the pain was excruciating. Why would Jesus not feel the same way? He created us to be like Him. Love, the act and emotion, came from Him. GOD IS LOVE! He desires to extend it, and yes, He desires to receive it. But, in His loving and gentle ways, He does not manipulate it or force it. He gives us the choice to love Him. He wants to be united to those who choose to love Him, for that is the only way love is true.
Listen to what Jesus says in His word about His love for you. As you read these words, personalize them and envision Jesus standing before you saying these words to you and you alone. And by the way, this is not “pretend”. Your vision is reality; this IS how Jesus feels about you.
-- My love for you reaches to the heavens and my faithfulness to you to the skies. (Psalm 36:5)
-- Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. (Jeremiah 31:3)
-- I have bestowed my love on you in such a manner that you can be called MY child. (1John 3:1)
-- Nothing can separate my love from you – not life, not death, not angels, not demons, not present or future, not
any power, not height, not depth, not anything else in all creation! (Romans 8:38-39)
-- I demonstrate my vast love for you in that even while you were still a sinner, I died for you. (Romans 5:8)
-- I love you so much that I sent my only Son to be where you are that He may be the sacrifice for your sins. It pleased me to do this to my Son so that I may have you. (John 3:16 & Isaiah 53:10).
Can you accept this? Can you accept that you are loved beyond what your created mind can conceive? If no, please think about this more. Your rejection of this love does come with a price. Remember, we are created beings, and we are subject to HIS ways; not the ways of humans. Since that is not the focus of this letter, I want to go on….
If you can believe that Jesus loves you, then the next step is to receive this love. This is where everything changes… The love of Jesus will change you. When you receive His love, then He dwells within you in the form of His Holy Spirit. With the Spirit of Jesus living inside of you, you will change. Basically, “you” will die, and He will live in you. One of my favorite scriptures that I often quote to remind myself of who I am is, “I am crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. And this life I live now in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loves me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20) Hallelujah!
When I stop and think of Jesus’ personal love for me, I realize that His death for me was also personal. Jesus died for ME! In order for me to be presentable to a Holy God who cannot and will not tolerate sin, my sins had to be atoned for; they had to be removed from me. Jesus came to this earth in human form so He could act in the order of the ultimate High Priest for me – eternally accounting and atoning for my sins. The only reason that He did this is because His love for me and His desire for me to be in His presence some day (and for all eternity) is so great and so vast and so immense. He literally took upon Him all of the things I have done and will do in my flesh – the detestable, rude, vile, dishonest, disrespectful, rebellious, and unholy things – and these things killed Him. He literally died for them. BUT, because He is the Lamb of God, He took these things down to the pit of Hell and left them there, and three days later, He arose and is ALIVE right now offering the gift of forgiveness to me! And once and for all, all of my sins – those committed as a child, a teenager, a young adult, a middle-aged adult, and even into my future years – were removed never to be remembered by Him again. This is all true for you too!! He says…
-- For I will forgive your sins and wickedness and remember them no more! (Hebrews 8:12)
-- Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)
Do you see how this is personal? This is not about everyone else; this is about what He did for you! Can you truly receive this? If you do, you will begin to understand this love more and more, and as the Word says, will be filled to the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19). And when we are filled with the things of God, we have joy, peace, and a hope that cannot be understood – it surpasses all human understanding. We have a hope of what is to come, and it is going to be glorious!! We will have a love for Jesus that is full of gratitude, honor, reverence, and that desires to know Him and please Him at all costs.
If you do not know this love today, you can!! It is so easy. Just believe what He says and believe that He loves you. Believe what you are reading. And if you’re not sure, go to the Bible yourself and look up the scriptures I have included in this letter. Read the gospels of Jesus (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John). The Word of God is pure and active and is very much alive – it will change you – it never comes back void!! (Hebrews 4:12 & Isaiah 55:11)
And lastly, ask Jesus. Talk to Him and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Tell Him that you are a sinner and you need a Savior --- you need Him! Humble yourself before Him, recognize His deity, His majesty, and most of all, His sacrifice for you. Ask Him to take your sins, and ask Him to take over your life and live in you. When you ask Him these things in purity and honesty, He will respond. He will answer and you will be HIS, sealed forever. Here are His promises:
-- Ask and you shall receive; seek me and you shall find me; knock and the door shall be opened unto you. (Luke 11:9)
-- Call upon me, and I will answer. (Psalm 91:15)
-- I give you eternal life; you shall never perish. No one can snatch you out of my hands. (John 10:28)
-- I will never leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)
My prayer for you is that you will receive all of these words – His words. My writing this letter and sending it to you is by HIS direction. He has determined exactly who should receive this. He is waiting for you to respond!
With the love of Jesus and much sincerity,
Someone Who Truly Cares about YOU!!
