"The Joyful Feast of Tabernacles"
Dear Doves,
The Feast of
Tabernacles this year 2010 will be on the Gregorian calendar from
Wednesday evening of September 22 through Thursday evening of September
30. Mark your calendars and pray that your praises to our dear Saviour
will be honored by his appearance. He has been waiting a lot longer
than any of us for his meeting with his Bride and his royal coronation!
Hallelujah!
In John 7 we are told of Jesus' appearance at
the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem and how he did not accompany the
apostles to the Feast, but chose to tarry in Galilee until his time had
come. After the disciples left for the Feast, Jesus also went to the
Feast, secretly not openly. In the middle of the Feast, he went up into
Solomon's Temple and taught there. The Jews wanted to kill him and
sought him in Jerusalem, but no one spoke openly about him for fear of
the Jews.
His behavior at the Feast may foreshadow how he
will appear to his believers before the rapture takes place this year,
or soon, i.e., in the midst of the Feast of Tabernacles. He slipped
into Jerusalem quietly and secretly, like a thief in the night. We must
remember that Jesus was a Jew and he kept the Feast of Tabernacles by
going into Jerusalem for the festivities of that harvest event as
required in Leviticus chapter 23. He will surprise those unbelievers or
lukewarm Christians who are not waiting for him, but let's not be like
them! Let's be ready!
In the court of the Temple where
Jesus taught, we are told in Psalm 100:4 we are to praise God there:
"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with
praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." Our chorus of
praises to him will probably be a beacon to him guiding him to us. He
will of course appear as soon as his time has come and only the Father
knows when that time will be. In the meantime, we must stay alert and
always ready to meet our dear Saviour in the air and on earth when that
time comes.
Let us make noises of praise and honor to our
future Bridegroom, the only one who is able to dispel the pain and
sadness that envelops us in this valley of the shadow of death that we
now inhabit. Finally, he will take us out of Satan's kingdom and into
God's kingdom. Dearest Doves, do not be discouraged if he does not
appear on the first or second day of the Feast, i.e., September 22 or
23, but remember he wants to appear with a surprise element, like a
thief in the night! Let's keep our lamps lit and wicks trimmed for that
event, and let us be ready to drop everything when we hear his voice,
like sheep who recognize the voice of the shepherd calling in the night.
When
he finally appears in the air, I am certain his presence, joy and peace
will then transform our lives, forever. We will at last be with our
dear shepherd, safe and secure, well-fed and comfortable in his loving
arms, ready for great adventures -- with his laughter and support
always around our being, as we step joyfully into the wedding feast and
thence into the Millennium.!
Our times of trial and oppression and sin will be dispelled forever and our nature will at last be like his.
Our joy will be complete and our future guaranteed forever! Hallelujah!
YBIC,
Robert
