"The Importance of Prayer"

Dear Doves,

Prayer

My prayer is that each and every single one of you reading this message will be freed from the dominion of Satan, and his demons and fallen angels. Depart from all who are reading this now by the power of Jesus of Nazareth and be bound in the bottomless pit never to return.

Grant, dearest Lord and Saviour, that everyone reading this will leave with a strengthened resolve to begin at once to begin praying without ceasing especially now as we approach the very last days of Grace. I ask for the prayers of all who are reading, too.

Thanks you Almighty and Merciful Father for the ability to post this message in the hope that it will contribute towards the coming of Your kingdom!

Amen.

A book that I am finding helpful in understanding the evil that is apparent everywhere in the world especially in the news media  is called God At War – The Bible & Spiritual Conflict by Gregory A. Boyd. The theme is that our worldview should be one of warfare- between God, His angels and His saved humans against the rebellious angels,or demons, and their leader, Satan. The following thoughts are paraphrased from this book and I find that I agree with them whole-heartedly. God is omni potent but respects the free will that angels and humans were given. Consequently, He faces the risk that rebellious angels and humans may act freely in opposition to His will.

When Jesus healed the demon-oppressed using the power of His faith and prayer, He did what the disciples sometimes could not do because they lacked sufficient faith and did not pray effectively. (Matt. 9:29, “According to your faith be it unto you.” Jn 11:40 “If thou wouldest believe thou shouldest see the glory of God.” ) Truly we all need to pray for the Holy Spirit to provide the power that we lack, and pray that Jesus will undergird our petitions. There is nothing fair about demon possession, it is not the fault of the possessed, the demons are parasites and need to inhabit somebody to live. Jesus always showed compassion for those so afflicted.

We need to always remember that the prayer of faith can save the sick, and the Lord will respond to our faith by raising them up. Therefore we should pray one for another, so that others may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. (Jas. 5:15-16 “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”)

Strive to pray at all times during the days. (1 Thess. 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”) Others depend on our prayers and we are morally responsible for each other and the kingdom of God will grow only to the extent that we pray for others and decrease the dominion of the kingdom of Satan.

Prayer can cause God to change His mind and allow someone to live who was previously thought about to die (Isa. 38:1-8 “I have heard thy prayer. I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years…”). Faith-filled prayer empowers us to free others from the power of demons instead of leaving enslaved. (Mat. 21:21-22 “…all things whatsoever you ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”)
