"6/8/2009-Doves Post: "Summer 2009 Stock Market CRASH" Prediction.....ouch"
I marvel at the fairly constant posts
predicting Stock Market CRASHes, home values being worthless, the US
Dollar being worthless......etc, etc.
I keep some of these posts, and trip over them from time to time to see what was said, when, and how wrong they were.
Today
I tripped over this one.... the poster had
been told "by a very respected financial planner in his community that,
using something very close to quantum physics (of all things)" he
predicted in the Summer of 2009, that the stock market would start to
crash, homes would be worthless, and that he should sell HIS home, too!
UGH!
For
10 years now, I've tried to make decent investment decisions, while
keeping a close eye on the "times in which we live" meaning, the end
times, the soon return of Jesus Christ, and the challenging economic
environment that has developed during the past 10 years...the past 5
years....the past 2 years....and what is happening around the world
today.
It's TOUGH......making good financial decisions today is
not easy.....but I cringe at all of the horriffic predictions I've seen
in the last couple years.
That post from June 8, 2009 ended with "My brother, a banker, told me to get a second opinion..." I hope he did!
NONE
of the worst predictions for 2010 have come true so far this
year. The stock market is holding it's own better than most have
expected. The US Dollar has NOT blown up (though it has slipped
since it's high against the Euro in June)
I know of 2 investors
who, in the past 12 months, in "conservative investment accounts" are
up 11% (7% from dividends!) and the other account up 6% from more
growth than dividends. It would have been a waste of their money
to have done anything else during that time....like CDs or money
markets.
You still NEED to make good financial decisions....what if Christ's return is still 10 years off????? Or 20 ????
YFIC,
Randy
PS
I
continue to say....national and world economies will NOT
CRASH.....until the Rapture. That's my story, and I'm sticking to
it! (lol...)
PPS....about 4-6 months ago, there was a post
listing the dire predictions of about 20 "top" financial gurus in the
US and around the world, all predicting the total collapse of the US
and world economies mid year 2010, or in the fall. Time is
running out for all of them to be right. One, Harry Dent, said it
would start in August. Like predicting the exact date of the
Rapture.....they are BOTH a tough call!
PPPS....(lol...I
know....) However.....if Israel goes after Iran in November, all
bets are off, depending on the response from Iran!
TICK
TOCK...It is certainly a very interesting time to be a Christian,
watching the events around the world....and hoping for what must
certainly be "soon" to come....whenever "soon" is!
