"2010 AFL Grand Final Draw"

John and Doves,

Here in Australia we have just had the 2010 AFL Grand Final - the culmination of our Aussie Rules Football competition.

By way of explanation here, especially to our American readers, Aussie Rules is a bit like Grid Iron (American football?) but
without the padding, helmets and tights because there is much more skill involved and much less biffo! It is also played on a
much bigger stage and has four quarters of play. My explanation is somewhat rudimentary as I am primarily a soccer fan.

It ended in a draw between Collingwood and St Kilda, both from Melbourne. The score was 68 to 68.
The attendance was 100,016. It was indeed a pulsating game!

The last time there was a draw in the Final was 1977 when the score was 76 to 76. That was 33 years ago!

So, the contestants this year will have to do it all again next Saturday to find a winner. Will the Saints go marching in?
Maybe for that song is their team song!

I had a look at the scores - 68 + 68 = 136 = 17 x 8.

The attendance was 100,016. 1 + 1 + 6 = 8.

Then I looked at the previous Final draw scores - 76 + 76 = 152 = 19 x 8.

Not sure what the attendance was then in 1977.

So all we need to know now is what the score will be next week.

We will have to wait and see.

Praise God! In Jesus' Name.

Phil.
