"Last thoughts on the matter and moving on"
I wonder what the non christian community thinks
about the dialogue from the Evangelical community regarding 8/28.
When I watched most all Cable and local stations report on this event,
they mostly saw it as a political movement above the religious talk
they heard. The media is running scared and so is the White House
for whether it was Glenn or someone else able to get people of such a
large gathering, they knew politically there were more numbers out
there that do not agree with the platform. Some felt this was
politcal for this was another Tea Party gathering. And others
were talking about a Beck/Palin run for the Presidency and Vice
President. (Glenn said NO WAY! and somewhat foggy about Palin)
I
wonder if they think GREAT, the "Church" is fearful of Glenn so we can
get them to come to our side or, we don't have to worry about them
because they are too busy in debate amongst themselves. Or, what if,
let's say, Steve Hadley gets in on the dialogue of our national crisis
and is able to rally the "brethren and sisters" in Christ together,
will we not allow others who differ in faith to join in on rescuing our
nation? "You guys go do your own thing and we will do
ours"? Oh, and where is the outcry about Obama being a
Christian? I read very little dialogue and the polls show a large
populace that feel he is a Christian when it should be very clear and
unmistakable about his faith.
As to the Mormons
having their private interpretation of the Constitution and our
national history, David Barton is a Southern Baptist who has been
compiling all of our Founding Father's documents and cataloging our
correct history for years. His organization, Wall Builders has
been around for MANY years.
The Mormon church does not
have the "corner market" on our national history, and the confidence by
Christians of other Christians' ability to discern truth from error is
quite remarkable. Since we have the Scriptures, and mostly the
Holy Spirit who leads and guides us unto all the Truth of the
Scripture, I feel it near impossible for the Real Born Again,
Holy Spirit filled follower of Jesus Christ to be dissuaded from
the Truth for very long.
Even as a non Christian, I
thought their beliefs were quite strange and suspect, especially since
history and archeology do not support their claims of being those from
Israel with an unusual name that is not apart of the 12 Tribes of
Israel or listed in the Scriptures of their geneology,
And,
I do not nor never did believe in "secrets' such as the mystery that is
shrouded inside the inner Temple in Utah and secret baptisms. Nor
do I believe we existed as spirit-beings before we were
conceived. By the way, at one time while listening to a Bill
Gaither 1/2 hour gathering of the singers/musicians, I heard one person
make a comment in keeping with that "teaching". No one
raised an eyebrow or commented on that statement nor did I hear the
"Church" aroused to defend correct doctrine.
At least, I
am for returning back to the morality of being a person of your word,
shaking a hand is that contract to keep, for better or for
worse..keeping that covenant, no "trial" marriages, no unholy marriages
and making sure that our eyes see only what is honoring on the
Television and not making alllowances.
When our country is in
trouble for us to rise to the occasion to defend it and not run away to
other countries. I am for Christians who have the conviction to
say NO when their company requires them to perform a job task that is
deceitful to their customers or clients or consumers even at the cost
of losing their jobs, or just plain outright illegal, rationalizing
away, "well, I am just following their orders and don't want to lose my
job", it's not really me who is doing it." Or say I am praying
for you and the very next breath, talking against you.
I
think, in closing, we all need to get our hearts, our lives, ready to
meet the Lord. And I am not preaching to the Choir, I am
preaching to my ownself as I know just how easy it is behave in
anything less than how our Lord wants us to live. I first must
pull out the log in my own eye before pointing out the splinter in
another's.
