"Abandoned POWS  ... Pow Mia  day"

Today, Friday, is POW/MIA Recognition Day
what must be remembered is that hundreds of American POWs were sent to
Russia during the cold war. These were questioned using the most extreme
methods and in the end died from mistreatment. Many civilians also vanished
never to be seen again.

A regime that scheduled the imprisonment of hundreds of thousands of its own
people every year as part of their system of control by terror had no
restraint in brutalizing those enemies they captured for any advantage.

This has been proven by the words/ memoirs of Russian officers after the
fall of the Soviet Union. However this has been denied officially by both
sides. Politics :(  .

In Vietnam, as in Korea, there were two separate POW prison systems.
The secret one held POWs as hostages after 1975 to try to get America to pay
war reparations. Kissinger and the elite refused, so these were left to
slowly die by abuse.
One of your priorities must be to get the Congress to officially recognize
this....... and shine the light on those responsible..... Lewis  Brackett
