I know that your question was directed to Marilyn's post:
You asked: My question is, could this appearance of the bright and morning star (Saturn) actually appear in the evening, after 6pm, rather than the morning in our terms? The
reason I ask is that my thoughts were that a new day for the Hebrews
starts 6pm the day before a new day in Gentile
terms? Here in New Zealand (Napier) recently we have just had some
incredible clear evenings with the deepest of blue twilight skies and a
crisp slither of a new moon and a huge, bright star, as the only two
things visible in the sky. Just breathtaking.
While
I have the utmost respect for Marilyn, her assertion that Saturn is the
'bright and morning star' is unequivocally incorrect. Saturn cannot be
a day star and is only marginally bright. The 'day star', metaphorically the Lord Jesus Christ as described in 2 Peter 1:19 as arising in our hearts, is specifically named Phosphoros (Strong's G5459). Phosphoros is the Greek name for the celestial object Venus.
Venus is the brightest celestial object after the Sun and the Moon and
is the
only other celestial object besides the Sun and Moon that can be seen
during the day; hence a 'day star'. Venus is 10 times brighter than
Sirius, the brightest star, which is brighter than any other visible
planet.
Venus is undoubtedly the 'huge, bright star' that
you have been admiring in the western sky over the last few months.
The Greeks originally thought that western object shining in the
evening sky was a separate object than that which appears in the east.
By New Testament times, the Greek came to realize what the Babylonian's
knew 1600+ years before: The western object (evening star) was the
same object as the eastern object (morning star). The western version
was named whesphorus, which is the origin of our word WEST. The eastern version
was named eosphoros,
which is the origin of the word EAST. By the time the New
Testament was written, the Greek changed its identifying name to phosphoros the
single object we know as Venus. After October this year Venus, that
brilliant evening star will again become the 'bright morning star'.
The
Babylonian king in Isaiah 14 aspired to the bright morning star's lofty
heights, as the prophet sarcastically describes, but the king fell like
the evening star, sinking into the darkness. The Christian myth that
Lucifer is synonymous with Satan, or that he will be the son of Satan is
ABSOLUTELY FALSE. Lucifer is simply the Latin word for the planet
VENUS. It was translated in the Vulgate for the Romans and other Latin
speaking peoples early in the
first millennium. The name stuck and was used by the KJV translators.
It is a correct translation, calling the celestial object by the Roman
name is not the problem. Personifying Lucifer as Satan, the planet we
call Venus, is a misinterpretation and fable that Christian's would do
well to forsake. Jesus last recorded words in the Bible, as you pointed
out in John's Revelation, insists that HE (metaphorically) is the
'bright and morning star'. The words (H1966) heylel and (H7837) shachar in Isaiah 14:12 are bright and morning.
Clearly, Jesus cannot be co-identified with Satan or Satan's impossible
spawn. The Babylonian king thought himself to be greater than the Lord
(metaphorically thinking himself the bright and morning star), but was
cut down to the ground like the sinking western star. Interestingly,
those two words Gematria total 583 which is the exact
number of average days between morning or evening risings or
conjunctive periods of the Earth, Venus and Sun. The Hebrew word
(H3213) yalal in this passage is left uninterpreted, but means to
howl which I believe refers to the evening 'howl' of the nocturnal
creatures also identifying the western-evening appearance of Venus where
it sinks into the darkness.
Some interesting things about the bright morning star:
Because of something called retrograde motion, the morning appearance of Venus sometimes falls below the eastern horizon for three days and then rises again on the third day in similitude of Jesus' resurrection.
The orbit of Venus helps stabilize our orbit preserving life on Earth.
The synodic mathematical relationship with Earth-Sun is very nearly the Golden Ratio.
The
3rd, 4th and 5th Fibonacci numbers: 5, 8, 13 describe the synodic
relationship of Earth-Venus. 13 orbits of Venus and 8 orbits
of Earth conjunct 5 times completing one pentagonal cycle.
There is an eight year cycle of five Earth-Venus-Sun conjunctions that, if observed from above our solar system, forms a pentagonal (star). The pentagram, now hijacked by wiccans, occultists, etc., used to be a symbol for early Christians representing the five wounds of Christ, the Pentateuch and
Pentecost. The pentagonal cyclic relationship of Earth and Venus is God-designed perfection, not satanic flaw. This pentagonal cycle repeats, drifting backwards through the Mazzaroth making a greater cycle of 1215 years.
Many
have speculated as to the prophetic meaning of the various numerical
values in the Book of Daniel, eighth and twelfth chapters. Some may
have correctly interpreted a straight-forward accounting of these
end-time days, on that I will not comment. However, the vision as given
in chapter 12 richly describes a specific time frame based on the
tropical earth year and the numbers
given there (which describes Venus). The 2300 mornings and evenings
(star-Venus) in chapter 8 reconciles the celestial clock variable,
described as precession, with the clock movement of Earth-Venus over a
long time frame. The values given by Daniel's visions accurately
describes the orbital periods, average length of short-term and
long-term synodic periods, the length of Venus' rotation period, the
length of the Venusian day (standing on Venus!) as well as the length of
precession and its correction allowing for its effect all within
99.999% accuracy of NASA published data! At some point in the near
future, I will publish the proofs of this message in Daniel (and
Revelation).
More
extraordinary is a specific repeating time frame of Venus-Earth that
when applied to the
purposely ambiguous 'time, times and a half', is the exact time-frame
between the date of Daniel's vision and a rare celestial event in early
June of 2012, just after traditional Pentecost that year.
There is one interesting relationship between Daniel' s 70 weeks and 1290 days and Saturn-Venus-Earth-Sun:
Saturn being the seventh visible object has a 29.4571 year orbit of the sun in similitude of the Moon's 29.5 day synodic period of the earth. 70 orbits of Saturn is very near the equivalent of 1290 'morning star' risings (average 583.9202 days). The difference is 129 days.
