PRAY FOR US
As VOM staff travel around the world, one of the questions we ask our persecuted brothers and sisters is, "How can we help you?"
Their request, almost every time, is a simple one: "Pray for us." They aren't asking us to pray that all of their trials and persecution will cease. They are asking us to pray that in spite of the things they suffer, God will enable them to remain faithful.
The second Sunday of each November, churches around the world gather to fulfill that request as part of the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP). Will your church join this year's International Day of Prayer on Nov. 14?
To help you and your church "Remember those in bonds" (Heb. 13:3), The Voice of the Martyrs has prepared a special IDOP CHURCH RESOURCE KIT. For only $9, you will receive a short video showing the importance of praying for the persecuted, prayer brochures to distribute at church, a children's prayer resource, and postcards to send to Christians currently in prison for their faith.
IDOP Sunday is an important day for us to focus on our persecuted brothers and sisters, but it isn't enough to remember them only once a year. To help you and your church remember our persecuted family year-round, order a VOM PRAYER BANNER to hang in your sanctuary, Sunday school classroom or youth room. VOM's new banner contains a very simple message, the main request of our persecuted brothers and sisters: PRAY. Or you may choose one of the other 4- by 6-foot banners available from VOM.
You can make a difference for persecuted Christians. Answer their request, and pray for them Nov. 14.
