Michael,I do not know of any scriptural reference where God ever did anything based on a pagan prophecy, given by a pagan people that served a pagan God. Why in the world would the born again church of Jesus Christ do that?I agree with you that 12/21/12 has nothing whatsoever to do with God's plan for this earth.GaryMichael Colunga (26 Aug 2010)

Hello, John and Doves,I personally would not put any of my hopes and dreams on the propect of any so-called Grand Alignment of planets. After all, Jupiter has more mass than all of the other planets combined.I do not expect more to happen in 2012 than happened in 1982 or 2000.There are those people, however, who are invested in hyping up the 12/21/12 date. When nothing happens, the AC, on the wings of supposedly single-handedly thwarting fate, will gain great power. In the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning,Mike C."Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." 10 Reasons Why the Resurrection of the Dead and Rapture of the Church Could Coincide with the December 2012 Mayan Calendar End of the Age
There is a general awareness regarding the infamous date December 21, 2012 marking the end of a long cycle on the Mayan calendar and fulfilling other prophecies. This date marks the winter solstice of 2012, and it is said it will end a period of 5,125 with a rare galactic and planetary alignment.
Many believe that this planetary alignment could set off a chain reaction of cataclysmic events on Earth due to increase solar activity and a polar shift. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis would result, causing major global destruction.
Does the Bible support this view? What follows are eight (sb ten) reasons why the future resurrection of the dead in Christ and rapture of the church could take place in conjunction with a global catastrophe similar to the one some predict for December 21, 2012.
