I'll be in full alert for this Day of Atonement, Sep.18.
It is the last day of Tshuvah 40 days from Elul 1, and happens to be the Sabbath as well.
On the day of Yom Kippur in 1973, most Israelis including soldiers were fasting when the massive and
surprise attack came from the joint forces of Arab.
Israel knew the suspicious military activities of the enemy, but thought it was a drill.
So only the minimal force stayed on the front line and the whole national communication system was off.
It looked certain that Israel would be defeated miserably and pushed into the Mediterranean, yet
won the war by God's protection.
But the enemy never learns the lesson, and might try again on this holiest day for Jews.
By the US time, it will be "Friday, 17 " which Virginia Arnke received.
