"It Is Finished"

IT IS FINISHED

It is not easy for anyone to change their traditional understanding of any scripture, especially when one is more than 50 or 60 years old.  Anyone taught (or teaching) for 20 or so years that a particular verse means one thing finds it very difficult, if not impossible, to accept that, that verse may not, in fact, mean what they have learned/taught.  A man with an honest heart shouldn't want to teach or be taught error.

Many are looking for the year 2015 to be an end of these things.  Many others think that is impossible, holding the view that there must be a future 7 years of tribulation.  "Squeeze" as one might, there is no way to put 7 years between 2010 and 2015.  That is a maximum of 5 years, which some/most traditionalists think impossible.  In their self-appraisal, they are "grounded and rooted" in "truth" and nobody is going to "change my way of thinking", even though it may be rooted in something previously "sealed".

Case in point: "The setting up of the A.O.D. - Abomination of Desolation"
The traditional view of the day count when this happens is on day 1290 of a 7 year tribulation.  They base their understanding on Daniel 12:11
And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days

Let us look back and see what the question actually was, as recorded in Daniel 12:5-8
Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.    And [one] said to the man clothed in linen, which [was] upon the waters of the river, How long [shall it be to] the end of these wonders? And I heard the man clothed in linen, which [was] upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that [it shall be] for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these [things] shall be finished. And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what [shall be] the end of these [things] ?

"One" asked "HOW LONG/when" is THE END of these wonders?  He was answered plainly with an oath that it would be 1290 days until "the end" of these things were accomplished.  "WHEN IS THE END of these things?"  The answer is not 7 years but IS, 1290 days until THE END of these things.  How is that possible?  Look again at Daniel 12:11
And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days
There are 3 parts of this verse:
From:
1) when the daily is taken away
AND
2) when the AOD is set up
until (implied)
3) THE END of these things.

FROM 1) and 2), there are 1290 days UNTIL:
3)THE END of these wonders.  These "wonders" DO NOT cease at mid-trib.  They DO END when it is finished, as related to National Israel.
"AND" tells us that the "daily" is taken away AND the "AOD" is set at the SAME TIME, i.e. simultaneous events.  FROM THAT POINT, there are 1290 days UNTIL the end of these things, not for the church, for National Israel.
There ARE NOT 1290 days from the beginning of tribulation until the setting up of the Abomination of Desolation.  There ARE 1290 days from WHEN the AOD is set up until the end of these things for Israel - again... NOT the church.
1290 days is 3 and 1/2 years which includes one Adar II month.

What is the "daily" and when is it taken away?
It is "taken away" WHEN the AOD is set up.
But, "what" is it?
Look at Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.
Paul was the apostle to the gentiles.  The church is a living sacrifice offering itself (acceptably) to God through reasonable service.
This living sacrifice (the church) is "taken away" WHEN the AOD is set up.  >From that point in time, there are 1290 days for National Israel until THE END of these wonders.
It is easy enough to "squeeze" 1290 days into 5 years, between 2010 and 2015.

On the cross, Jesus uttered the words "It is finished".  Obviously, that which He must accomplish up, until that time, was finished.  He was cut off in the midst of his years.  He was cut off after 3.5 solar years of ministry or 3.52 prophetic years from his baptism.  3.5 plus 3.5 is a total of 7 years.  He accomplished (finished) the first 3 1/2 years.  ONLY 3 1/2 years remain.
Jesus dealt with national Israel for 3.5 years from baptism to his crucifixion.  He will again deal with Israel for 3.5 years (1290 days) after the AOD is set up.  Then will come THE END of these wonders.

The Abomination of Desolation is set up AND the church is removed simultaneously, in order that God can again focus on national Israel.  If one insists on a 7 year covenant... that covenant is/was Baptism with 3.5 years accomplished (finished) BEFORE crucifixion and 3.5 years AFTER the AOD is set up when it can be said, again, IT IS FINISHED.
