"To Robert G: Urgent Prayer Request"

Robert G (13 Sep 2010)
"Urgent prayer request"

Dear Robert,

Be encouraged that you are not the only one going through these trials and testing.  Millions of people in the U.S. and around the world are going through the exact same thing.

Personally, I think God is allowing this to happen to draw His children closer to Him, to prune us, and remove any dross (spots or blemishes).  Christ’s bride will be spotless.  I think it is also a way for God to force us to not lean on our jobs or our paychecks/money, but to trust in Him for our provision and bring us into closer fellowship with Him.  That’s for the “saved”.  For the unsaved, God allows trials so they will call out to Him with all their hearts, and perhaps get saved during this trial.

You say that you read Five Doves first thing in the morning.  That’s good, but might I suggest that you spend some quiet time in the Word of God alone with God for even 5 minutes, more if you have time, first thing out of bed.  Things will start happening for you.  I find that when I do this, no matter what I happened to read that morning, for the rest of the day appropriate scriptures pop into my mind and come out of my mouth all day.  Its amazing how this works.  We are spiritual beings and we need spiritual food.  The best spiritual food God has provided for is His Word.

Also while you are unemployed, consider going on prayer walks, if you have a nice park or woods you can walk in.  See this time as a God ordained “sabbatical”.

You say you lost your Mother this year.  I know how difficult that can be and it takes time to get over the grief.  Thank God that you were unemployed during this time, so you could get through all the stages of grief and get your balance back.

God hasn’t forgotten you.  You are the apple of His eye!  He loves you so much, He can’t take His eyes off of you!  Trust Him, Cast ALL your cares upon Him and Thank Him for this time to draw close to Him.  When the refiner sees you are ready, He will SUDDENLY swing wide open the right door for you, and You Will REJOICE!

I’m praying for a good job for you!

Maranatha,

Deborah
