"Thank you Sabrina, My songs"
Sabrina,
You are welcome and thank you too!
Yes
the songs have music but I have yet to record these two. I have
recorded others from this collection of songs that I could share with
you.
There is an interesting story behind this all too.
Have
you heard of a Christian singer named Jeff Fenholt? (He once played
Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar and also he sang for bands like Black
Sabbath and now he is a Christian and sings for the Lord.) One night he
was singing and sharing his testimony at a local church back in 1987. I
remember it well because I was expecting the rapture in just a matter
of days from that night as a result of some very convincing teaching by
a brilliant man named Ralph Lyman using the pyramid. He got saved
listening to Gene Scott whom I also had been following and who had been
also teaching this subject and I later learned from Bonnie Gaunt that
she was the one who gave Gene Scott the books on the subject. It was
very heavy stuff.
Well, I got to talk with Jeff Fenholt
after the service and he asked me if I write music and I told him I do
and he said he was interested in producing a "Rock Opera" based on
Isaiah 53, "Who Hath Believed Our Report..." and he asked me if I have
written anything like that. It was strange because the truth was I had
some of this already and so I should have been excited to tell him YES!
and share it with him and we may have worked together on this. (I have
relived that moment a thousand times with the right answer and
wished...) But instead, I didn't tell him about it because I was
convinced that the rapture was just days away and there was no reason
to begin working on a project like this. I thought it would be too hard
to explain about the rapture thing so I just said no I don't have
anything like that. Oh how I have regretted that decision but that was
how convinced I was at the time that the rapture was going to happen
then. Anyway, I decided to just keep writing all the same and most of
the songs are just in my head or on paper but some I have recorded when
I got the chance.
The one that has to do with Isaiah 53
was actually the first one I had written and it goes like this. It is
the opening fanfare and says:
Something here needs changing
All
things old must be made new... (repeats several times in rounds with
choir) Then one singer which would probably be Apostle Paul sings:
Show me a man who builds houses on sand and I'll
show you a man who hears truth and then walks away
I built my house on the rock it stood firm though the (two voices in harmony, Peter and Paul)
wind blew upon it rain fell and the flood came
Who hath believed our report? (choir)
We are counted as sheep for the slaughter (Paul)
Who hath believed our report? (choir)
We're in danger of death all the day (Paul)
And though the outward man is passing away (all sing)
Inwardly we're renewed every day
Though steep is the grade as onward we climb
Narrow the path that few ever find
From vessels of living water we are drinking
With
Pegasus and the swan we are flying (refers to
the star gospel which I also learned from Gene Scott.)
No more crying from trying to bear the cross all alone...
There's another verse but you get the idea.
I
have often regretted that I have not done more with this than I have
and I hope that I have not been "hiding my talent" by not making
something happen with it.
Thank you for liking it and listening.
