LEAST EXPECTED TIME!

Christians, walking with the Lord, are aware that the Lord Jesus is coming again very soon. They do not know when the Lord will return but they know it is soon. Many warnings of the soon return of the Lord Jesus have been given. As a rule this warning has fallen upon deaf ears.

It is like the days of Noah. He warned his generation for over 100 years. They all laughed and mocked and rejected his warnings. As the rains came the people were still laughing and mocking unto their destruction. The same is true today! People have been warned that the Lord Jesus is coming again very soon. Yet many choose to reject the warning and continue laughing as they pursue the pleasures and treasures of this lost world.

We are also living in the last days when many have fallen away from the Christian faith. Many church pastors and congregations have rejected sound Biblical teaching and have turned aside to all forms of false teachings, rock music, and occult entertainment. Worldly entertainment is used to increase the numbers of attendees of a church while the Bible is thrown aside. The doctrines of the Bible are considered negative for church growth so they are cast aside and more "positive" psychological uplifting worldly topics are preached from the pulpits. Even the topic of Bible prophecy is rarely preached in church anymore! I find that very interesting. We are living in days immediately before the return of the Lord Jesus to rapture home His church, and very few pastors preach on Bible prophecy!

But in light of all this falling away into apostasy, the Lord Jesus will come at a time least expected! We know His coming to rapture home His people is soon but we do not know the exact date. The Bible warns that many will be caught by surprise even though the signs of His return are all around us to see! Look at this verse:

Luke 18
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

This is very interesting because God is actively fulfilling Bible prophecy and the signs of the soon return of the Lord Jesus can be easily seen. The real question may be: Who is watching and expecting the Lord to return?

The above verse clearly warns that many will be caught off-guard. The Lord will come just as He promised and it will be a sudden appearance. Then the question is asked if faith will be found when the Lord Jesus suddenly comes. The implication is that there will be very little true saving faith at that time. Many will call themselves "Christian" and attend some kind of liberal, doctrine rejecting, occult loving, rock music singing church. But in reality these people are not really saved. They have no heart for the Lord or for sound Biblical doctrine. This is what the Lord means when He says 'shall he find faith on the earth?'. There will be many religious hypocrites attending liberal doctrine rejecting churches when the Lord Jesus returns to rapture home His people.

As mentioned we are very close to the return of the Lord Jesus. The exact time and date is unknown but we know it will be soon.

Here are a few trends pointing to the nearness of the Lord's return: - rejection of Godly morals. Immorality, adultery, sodomy, and the breakup of marriage and the family are worldwide problems.

- There are many prophetic signs like: Jerusalem is a stumbling stone for the world, the kingdom of the antichrist is getting ready to rise on the world scene, one world government, one world economy, the mark of the beast technology is now possible to implement with computer technology, and many more prophetic signs.

- The Bible is increasingly becoming "hate" literature by those who reject the Lord Jesus and the narrow way of salvation. The Lord Jesus said He was the only way to be saved. See below:

John 14
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

By making this claim the Lord Jesus also implies that all other so-called paths lead to death and hell! Since the Lord Jesus is the only way to be saved, all other pathways lead to hell. This greatly angers lost people who want to worship a god of their making on their own immoral terms. Lost people want a false god so they can have their religion and enjoy their immoral sin at the same time!

- Drastic increase in natural disasters. There are record breaking destructive storms, terrible earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and other disasters that are warning the world of impending Divine judgment

- Israel is back in the land and is a thorn in the side of the world.

Zech 12
1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

There can be no permanent and lasting peace in the Middle East until the Lord Jesus returns to setup His 1000 year Kingdom after the battle of Armageddon. Until that time the tiny nation of Israel will continue to be trouble, irritation, and a pain for the world. Many today hate the nation of Israel and want to see this nation destroyed. In the long run, they will be destroyed, not Israel!

- Parting of the land of Israel brings judgment to the world. Since 1948 the nations of the world have been parting the land of Israel. When Israel became a nation in 1948 they only received a small portion of land that was promised to them. This was a parting of the land and as a result of the bad treatment of the Jews and Israel by Britain, they lost their glorious British empire. More recently, the land of Israel has been parted and given back to the Arabs (Oslo agreement). All this angers the Lord for this sin. I expect the sin of parting the land of Israel to continue into the reign of the antichrist. This sin has never been done to the land of Israel before 1948. The latest is the "world" wants to create an enemy PLO state from within Israel by Jan 2009. This will further bring judgment to all the nations involved.

These are unique days as the sin of dividing Israel will cause the Lord to judge the world. Special severe judgment will be given for those nations directly involved in dividing the land of Israel. See below

Joel 3
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

The end of the verse mentions: 'parted my land'. God calls the land of Israel, My land! This means people and nations better not sin against the land of Israel or try to part and parcel it and give it away. The judgment of God is very real and it is a fearful thing!

- Rise of the occult. The religion of the kingdom of the antichrist will be occult based. This is why the Bible is rejected and all forms of occultism are being promoted. Books like the occult Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and the Satanic Narnia desensitize people to Biblical truths and lead them into Satan's occult world. These books are filled with white and black magic and both are part of Satanism. Rock and roll music is also a popular and addictive pathway to the occult. Sadly, all this evil has also made it into the churches! There are fun-loving professing Christians (who are not really saved) who love their rock music and occult entertainment. They get angry if shown the truth or are given correction. This is just another sign of the times and a part of the great falling away of the last days.

There are more signs of the nearness of the Lord's return but the above is a good overview.

SOME SAY: PLEASE DO NOT RETURN LORD JESUS!

I've talked to many people over the years about the soon coming of the Lord Jesus. To say the least, I have been surprised at some of the reactions people (in church) have regarding the at-any-moment rapture of the church. Many hope for a time delay as they do not want the Lord to return. They really do not look forward to the day they stand face-to-face with the Lord Jesus in the rapture.

This is why some say things like:
- I hope He doesn't return
- It won't happen in my lifetime - maybe 50-100 years

The bottom line is people with such an attitude really do not want the Lord to return. They are in love with the treasures and pleasures of this world and the return of the Lord Jesus would be an inconvenience to them and their lifestyle. As a result they do not look forward to meeting the Lord Jesus!

Sadly, there are many people who do not want the Lord Jesus to return. Their hearts are still focused upon earthly things and they do not want the Lord Jesus to return in their lifetime. This indicates a relationship problem between them and the Lord Jesus. Are they saved? Good question...? Not wanting the Lord Jesus to return is certainly bad fruit!

Other foolish people in these last days mock the return of the Lord and call Christians "escapists" who believe in the soon return of the Lord and the rapture. These people hate the rapture and do all they can to attack and mock the pre-tribulation rapture of the church.

Athiest mockers reject the Bible as a whole. The atheist mocks and hates the Word of God. This person hates God and the Bible. It is people like this who have passed laws to make the Bible "hate" literature in many nations today. This proves Satan has his people in authority the the governments as they succeed in passing such evil laws.

Here is what God thinks about the foolish atheist:

Psa 14
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

There are many who mock the soon return of the Lord Jesus while claiming to believe in Him. These mockers do not rightly divide the Word of Truth, the Bible. These are the anti pre-trib people who by their rejection and mockery of the rapture also show they reject the eternal promises of God to Israel through Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. They do not and will not understand the simple timeline given in Daniel chapter 9 about the 70 weeks of years prophecy for Israel with the Church in the world between the end of the 69th week and the beginning of the 70th week.

The last days mockers and scoffers are all part of Bible prophecy. We have been warned in the Bible that these days would come. Here is what the Bible says:

2 Pet 3
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Like people in the days of Noah, there will be mockers right up to the rapture when the Lord Jesus takes home His church. After that the world will enter its darkest days during the reign of the antichrist.

GREAT FALLING AWAY

We are living in great days of apostasy. False teachers prosper and get rich from those who have accepted Satan's lie not to judge evil and reject it. Sadly, we live in days where many false teachers and false prophets are behind a pulpit in a church. These people have no regard for the Bible, sound Biblical doctrine, or the salvation only found in the Lord Jesus. Here is a great description of a false teacher from the Bible:

Matt 15
14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Notice that the false teacher is blind. Such a person is nothing more than a lost hellbound sinner who is spiritually blind and can help no one including himself. Notice that these blind leaders also lead blind followers. These blind followers want nothing to do with sound Biblical doctrine and salvation found only the Lord Jesus. As a result these spiritually blind followers are happy to blindly follow their blind false teacher right to the firey pits of eternal hellfire.

These are days where anyone who can fall away will fall away. I have seen this many times with my own eyes. God is separating the true believer from the false ones. If a person deep down has no heart for God, then God will allow that person to fall away into sin and apostasy. Deep down these people may attend church but in reality they do not love God. Sound doctrine becomes an offense for these people as it will interfere with their pleasure seeking activities in the areas of rock music and occult entertainment (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or Narnia etc). Here is a good description of the various types of people that fall away from the Lord Jesus:

Matt 13
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

As mentioned, God is allowing people to fall away who can and will fall away. In the depths of their hearts they do not love the Lord and do not belong to Him. God is allowing them to go forth into sin and evil as this is what they really desire in the depths of their heart.

Look at the above verses. We see the way side heart. This is a person who hears the Gospel and rejects it. Satan comes and quickly takes away the seed planted in his heart. Next there is the stony heart. This person hears the Gospel and receives it for a little while. This person is not saved but likes the "Christian" thing. Over time when troubles comes he quickly falls away. Finally, there is the thorny heart. This person also is not saved. He hears the Gospel but due to his love of the pleasures and treasures of this world, he too falls away. All these are different from the person with good soil in his heart. He hears the Word of God and receives it. This person is saved and he walks with the Lord and produces fruit unto Him all his life!

In these last days there is a great falling away in church assemblies. Churches that years ago were solid, faithful and held fast to sound Biblical doctrine have fallen in to sin and apostasy. They have rejected the foundations of the Christian faith and want nothing to do with Biblical doctrine. In order for a church to fall away from the Lord Jesus, it takes two parties to accomplish this task. First, a man who does not love the Lord must be made pastor. Secondly, a congregation that does not love the Lord must accept the leadership of that pastor who does not love the Lord. Then together (blind leading the blind) that church assembly will fall away from sound Biblical doctrine into heresy and apostasy.

There is a trend to watch for a church falling away. It goes like this. First the church rejects the King James Bible and accepts one of the modern perversion based on the corrupt Westcott and Hort manuscripts. Next, that church will get into wrong music (rock music). This starts slowly but soon the church goes all the way with a rock'in praise team and youth night rock concerts. Finally, the church gets involved with occult entertainment (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or Narnia). The rock and roll and the occult harden hearts to the point where the only direction that church can go is downward toward the fiery pits of hell. Remember the first step of falling away: Rejection of the tried and true King James Bible!

Here are some additional signs of either a church or an individual falling away from God and heading into apostasy:

- perverted Bible versions (NIV, NASB etc) based on corrupt manuscripts (stick with the KJV)
- occultism via Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, yoga, (white and black witchcraft), fairy tales (spells) etc.
- acceptance of the purpose driven lies
- psychology which denies the sufficiency of the Word of God. Sin is replaced by concepts of self esteem.
- rejection of sound Biblical doctrine and believing the lie that sound doctrine is divisive.
- refusal to judge between good and evil and putting down those who stand for Biblical truth.
- claiming the Lord Jesus is NOT the only way to be saved
- adding some form of works or achievement to the plan of salvation

CONCLUSION

Luke 18
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Churches are falling away in these last days. How much faith will the Lord find when He returns to rapture home His people? I am quite sure that after the rapture there will be some churches left fully intact with no missing members! In these last days, anyone who can fall away will fall away from the Lord Jesus. This warning is for individual Christians as well as church assemblies.

The good news is the Lord gives His people protection in these last days. Christians need to grow in the Lord Jesus. It is important that each and every day to read the Bible, the Word of God. The goal of a Christian is to mature and grow closer to the Lord Jesus each and every day. Therefore, read the Bible and talk to the Lord in prayer. Attend a good solid Bible based church that still holds fast to sound doctrine. Find one that still uses the King James Bible and rejects the occult and rock music!

Christians also have the blessed hope of the soon and unannounced return of the Lord Jesus to rapture home His people. There are no prophetic signs that must first be fulfilled for the rapture to occur. The rapture is an imminent event. This means the rapture could happen today with no warning. How close the rapture must be when all the signs and birth pains with Israel are openly displayed in the world! How close the rapture must be when many individuals and churches are falling away and rejecting sound doctrine along with the Lord Jesus! Christians have the blessed hope of looking forward to the return of the Lord Jesus. The rapture could happen today! So keep watching and stay ready.

Titus 2
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

When you look around and see all kinds of evil, apostasy, falling away then look up and rejoice. Soon the Lord Jesus is returning for His people. This also means the Christian needs to do the following activities while waiting for the soon return of the Lord Jesus:

- Attend a church that still uses the King James Bible and rejects rock music and the occult.
- Read your Bible each and every day. Husbands and wives why not read it together each night before bed?
- Pray daily and make your requests known to the Lord. Pray and talk to the Lord all day long.
- Share your faith as God gives opportunity.

Be ready because soon we will stand before the Lord Jesus!
