I listened again to the very good Hannity interview which Sarah Palin
did, especially the part you point out about her thinking evolution
should be taught.

Eric, there is a difference between Macro-evolution and
Micro-Evolution.  Most Christians believe in Micro-Evolution, which is
change within a species, such as the change we have seen historically
in the shape and temperament of dogs.  Micro-evolution does not mean
that a species can make a jump into another species, as would occur in
Macro-Evolution.

Sarah only had one sentence to say about this, and I would guess she
would fill out her statement to something like what I"ve written here,
if encouraged to do so.

Most Christians believe BOTH evolution and creation should be taught in
school, so that students can see the differences and the similarities.  
What is unfair now is that evolution, that is, the errant
Macro-Evolution, is enshrined in school curriculums, while Creation
cannot be taught.

What does it mean to teach Creation in a public school?

Creation can be taught from the writings of well-known scientists such
as Galileo, Isaac Newton, Michael Behe (current microbiologist) Gerald
Schroeder (Israeli astrophysicist), and even Einstein, who said "God
does not play dice."   This is just a beginning list, because in the
days of Isaac Newton most scientists believed in Creation.

My son is a research scientist whose mind was brainwashed by our
current fixation on Darwinian evolution.  Pray for him.  He and I have
had debates on this, and I have read some books by scientists who
believe in Creation, to prop my mind up for these debates--but to no
avail, because the fix is in.  I especially recommend Michael Behe, who
wrote "Darwin's Black Box", concerning the impossibility of evolution
to occur from "ground zero" within a living cell, which is now easily
seen with the development of the high powered microscopes which did not
exist in Darwin's day.  Behe has been ridiculed for his position, but I
say it is well documented.

Remember, your dog's shape demonstrates that Micro-Evolution has
occurred; your dog's smallest cell demonstrates that Macro-Evolution is
a theory rather than a proven fact.

I suspect Sarah knows all about this.
