"Torah portions and the Rapture"

Ki Tavo

Deuteronomy 26:1-29:8

Isaiah 60:1-60:22

September 1, 2007

Above are the Torah portions for September 1st.  I found it interesting regarding the Rapture as the following are themes within these passages:

Deuteronomy 26:1-29:8       Firstfruits       Implications regarding a Firstfruits Rapture

Isaiah 60:1-60:22

60:1 “Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you”

60:2 “For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples; But the Lord will rise upon you And His glory will appear upon you.

60:8 “Who are these who fly like a cloud and like doves to their lattices?

My Jews for Jesus calendar also includes a New Testament portion which is Acts 7.  I have looked many times in Act for a Rapture archetype and the best that I am able to see is Stephen’s death.  Yes, I know it’s a death, but the first believers were all martyred.  Read Hebrews and see that many were “aiming” for this goal.  Stephen after recounting much of the Patriarchs then goes on to rebuke the Jewish leaders of the time and then proclaims:

(55 being the bride number)

Acts 7:55 “But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; 56 and he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”

September 8th

Deut 29:9-30:20 and Deut 31:1-30

God goes over all the blessings the law covenant will bring Israel and the curses it will bring if disobeyed.  God lets Moses see the Promised land from afar.

Isaiah 55:6-56:8 and Isaiah 61:10 –63:9

55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways my ways”, declares the Lord.

55:9 “For as the Heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

55:11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which it was sent out.

55:12 “For you will go out with joy And be lead forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”

56:8 The Lord God, who gathers the dispersed of Israel , declares, “Yet others I will gather to them, to those already gathered.”

61:10 I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with garland, And as a bride adorns herself with jewels.

62:2 The nations will see your righteousness, And all kings your glory; And you will be called by a new name Which the mouth of the Lord will designate.

62:3 You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, And a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

62:4It will no longer be said to you, “Forsaken” Nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate” But you will be called “My delight is in her” And your land “Married” For the Lord delights in you, And to Him your land will be married.

62:5 For as a young man marries a virgin, So your sons will marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your God will rejoice over you.

62:11 Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth, Say to the daughter of Zion , “Lo, your salvation comes; Behold His reward is with Him, and His recompenses before Him.”

62:12 And they will call them, “The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord”; And you will be called “Sought out, a city not forsaken”.

63:4 “For the day of vengeance was in my heart, And My year of redemption has come.

63:5 “I looked, and there was no one to help, And I was astonished and there was no one to uphold; So My own arm brought salvation to Me, And My wrath upheld Me.

Joel 2

2:15 Blow a trumpet in Zion , Consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly

2:16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and the nursing infants.  Let the bridegroom come out of his room and the bride out of her bridal chamber

Blessings,
