I was doing a Bible study on the resurrections Jesus performed when God showed this to me - it blessed me and I hope it will bless others who read it! I have never heard anyone teaching on this phenomena before:3 Resurrections - Entire Family is IncludedThe gospels give the account of THREE people that Jesus raised from the dead. We know there are many others because it was said of Jesus if everything He did was written down, all the books in the world could not contain them, however THREE resurrections are described that Jesus did - in detail. These 3 represent 3 resurrections (there are actually 7 raptures in the Bible - but that is a whole different topic!)The three groups of people raised from the dead that are represented by these three resurrections are those who go up in the rapture, the Great Tribulation martyrs that await their resurrection under God’s great Altar, and the last resurrection of the dead before the Great White Throne judgment:· Widow of Nain’s son - was on a bier (stretcher) when Jesus raised him from the dead
· Jairus’ daughter - we can assume she was in some sort of bed when Jesus raised her from the dead because she was not carried to Him on a stretcher and she certainly never made it to a tomb!
· Lazarus - was in a tomb for 4 days before Jesus called him forthA bier (stretcher) the dead person is being carried (moved about)
A bed (denoting sleep/rest)
A tomb (picture of death)Note that every single time you have Jesus raising someone from the dead, the number twelve "mysteriously" shows up in nearby verses or in the SAME passages, indicating a change in dispensation. All THREE of the resurrections performed by Jesus represent a change in dispensation. (Twelve is, of course 444 or 4+4+4)Note too that ALL family members are "covered" in the three resurrections. I’m speaking immediate family - mom, dad, husband, wife, son, daughter, sisters, brothers. Your immediate family is one of the above (extended family such as in-laws are not included here).Widow of Nain and her son = Mother and son
Jairus’ daughter = Father and daughter
(You also have wife and husband)
Lazarus = brother to his 2 sisters = brothers & sistersTherefore - you have - Mother & Father, husband and wife, son and daughter and sisters and brothers! ALL groups are represented in these resurrections! An indication to us that when Paul told the Philippian jailer, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house." God will bring entire families to Him as He has promised! They are ALL covered in these THREE resurrections performed by Jesus! WHY? Because Jesus KNOWS how much we care about our closest loved ones! (However, you can’t push the "type" all the way when it comes to saved families because Lazarus represents those raised up at the Great White Throne.)#1 - Resurrection of Widow of Nain’s Son - this resurrection performed by Jesus is a TYPE of the rapture. Why? Because the widow of Nain’s son NEVER went to the tomb! He was resurrected while being carried about on a stretcher - Christians are alive, but we are also "dead in Christ" - so God sees us as "dead", yet we are very much alive - and - we NEVER make it to the tomb! We are resurrected before going into the tomb! We are "dead in Christ" and it is not we that live, but Christ lives through us - so we are like the widow of Nain’s son - being "dead" but being "carried" through life through the power of the Holy Spirit that lives within us (a stretcher is carried about by those who are alive and the Holy Spirit is OUR LIFE!) Luke 7:11-15 describes this resurrection. Note that it says "…there was a dead man CARRIED out…" Right before this in chapter 6:6, we read "…and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles." And again in Luke 8:1 - "…and the twelve were with him." This strange phenomenon of the number TWELVE is all around these resurrections. After the rapture, there is a change in dispensation. The age of Grace has ended, Daniel’s 70th week begins and it is back to works and faith just as it was under the dispensation of the LAW for the first 69 weeks (see Daniel in the Old Testament).#2 - Jairus’ daughter we can safely assume she was lying in a bed or on some type of cot (type of rest - a place to sleep) Remember Jesus told the people around her that she was not dead, only SLEEPING. A bed is for rest/sleeping. Also- realize that when Jesus FIRST was told of the little girl, she was ALIVE - but she was sick and NEAR death. She had not yet died. She is TWELVE YEARS OLD. Then a very odd thing happens- Jesus gets distracted by a woman who has an issue of blood TWELVE years. This woman grabs His garment and is healed. She represents ISRAEL. Who besides Israel has such an issue of blood that God has a controversy with them? When Pilate was washing his hands and said of Jesus, "I am innocent of the blood of this JUST man," the people, having just chosen Barabbas (a murderer) to be released in their midst - said, "His BLOOD be on us and our children." The most innocent person who ever lived was murdered in Jerusalem! Jesus wept over Jerusalem saying how much He had wanted to gather her under His wings as a hen gathers her chicks, but they would NOT. And God has some pretty BIG WINGS up there! He has some huge creatures that stand before His throne night and say saying "Holy, Holy, Holy,"…. And they all have SIX wings!) Matthew chapter nine talks of the resurrection of Jairus’ daughter - note that the maid is TWELVE, the woman with the issue of blood has had the disease TWELVE years, then in chapter ten, "…he had called unto him his twelve disciples." There is the number 12 mentioned three different times. Again in Mark chapter five, the resurrection of Jairus’s daughter is revealed - the little girl is 12, Jesus is distracted first by the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years, then in chapter 6:7 - "And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth…" Again - you have the number twelve all over this resurrection. Then again in Luke 9:1 - "Then he called his twelve disciples together…" Again, this little girl is described in Luke 8:41 - she is 12, the woman has the issue of blood 12 years --- a few verses later in Luke 9:12 "…then came the twelve and said unto him…" and AGAIN five verses later there are "…twelve baskets…" of food left over from the loaves and fishes Jesus multiplied!Anyway - this little girl is a type of the tribulation martyrs who die during the Great Tribulation while God is AGAIN dealing with the Jews (time of Jacob’s trouble) - represented by the woman who had the issue of blood TWELVE years. Remember that this little girl was NOT dead when she first came to Jesus’ attention, she was only sick. She died during the time Jesus was HEALING the woman who had the issue of blood (Israel). Jairus’ daughter represents the people who get saved after the rapture and who are ALIVE at the start of the Great Tribulation, then they die as a result of martyrdom during the time God is dealing with the Jews! (Woman with blood issue!) Jacob’s trouble -- Get the picture? These saints have a problem - they are "SICK" - they get left behind at the rapture because of their unbelief and various other reasons and they get saved by rejecting the beast and his image and becoming martyrs! Remember that these martyrs are found RESTING under the great ALTAR of God in the Book of Rev and they say, "…How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our BLOOD on them that dwell on the earth?" What does God tell them? He gives them WHITE robes (these are the ones who have made their robes WHITE in the blood of Jesus!) and tells them to REST yet for a little season until their fellow servants and brethren should be killed as they were! (Rev. 6:9-11). They are pictured by Jairus’ daughter who is lying in a bed - resting…AND she never goes to the TOMB! These same tribulation saints are shown with their "fellow servants" and "brethren" in Rev. 7:9-17 around God’s great throne worshipping Him! It is said in verse 16 & 17 that they "shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat…and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." During the tribulation if you belong to God and reject the Mark of the Beast, you will go HUNGRY, you will go THIRSTY, you will experience the sun being hotter than at any time in history (the unsaved are cursing God because of the heat!) and you will cry plenty of TEARS before you are martyred!) This IDENTIFIES them as Tribulation martyrs because they feel the brunt of the wrath of God being poured out on the earth! But - Jairus’ daughter never makes it to the tomb! Those who are represented by the widow of Nain’s son and Jairus’ daughter represent the FIRST resurrection. The widow of Nain’s son NEVER makes it to the tomb! Once the resurrection and the end of the tribulation takes place, a new dispensation is ushered in when Jesus reigns and rules with His saints for 1000 years.#3 - The Resurrection of Lazarus - Lazarus is a type of the second resurrection - ALL those who are raised up at the Great White Throne to be judged. (Remember we are told that "Blessed is he that hath part in the FIRST resurrection…" indicating that those who come up at the second resurrection do not have this blessing.) The gospel of John 11:43 is the resurrection of Lazarus. Right BEFORE that in 11:9, Jesus asked "…Are there not twelve hours in the day?" (Would this not make FOUR watches or 444 in a day? But if there are 12 hours in a day - then there are 12 hours in a night--- right? So the NIGHT would also have 3 watches or 444 - or a watch can also be 8 hours in which case you would have 888 or 3 watches in a 24 hour period.)It is interesting that when Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, "…he abode two days still in the same place where he was." Those TWO DAYS represent the past 2000 years (a day for 1000 years) which are the 2000 years of the age of grace. These two days are also typified by the marriage of Cana, because the marriage was on the THIRD DAY. The THIRD day after 2000 years of the dispensation of grace would be the beginning of the new millennium - course our calendars are off, so no one knows EXACTLY when that began. We are now into 2007 according to OUR calendar. After the Great White Throne judgment, another dispensation is ushered in - eternity begins and never ends! It is also interesting that Lazarus was in the tomb FOUR days. The number twelve represents the JEW in the Bible and the dispensations of time. For example - the New Jerusalem will have on its FOUNDATION the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb and it has 12 GATES. Jesus was 12 the second time He went into the temple and his parents found Him teaching the elders. There are 12 sons of Jacob and 12 apostles of the Lamb. During the millennial reign, there will be TWELVE nations on the earth. Rev. 12 shows a picture of a woman travailing about to give birth with TWELVE stars under her feet. This woman pictures the nation of Israel who gave birth to the Messiah. The number 12 is uniquely associated with the Jew, however, the New Jerusalem will be the abode of Jew and gentile for in Christ (under grace and the dispensation of grace) there are neither. Once the age of grace ends and Daniel’s 70th week begins, God will again turn His attention to dealing with Jacob and it will be the Time of Jacob’s Trouble. There is another "type" here, but you can’t push it all the way.Jairus’ daughter - type of God the Father - dealing with Israel who is called the "Daughter of Zion" - He is dealing with Israel during the time of these saints.Widow of Nain’s son - type of God the Son - The Son gives eternal life and for those who accept Him now - we shall never die - our "Blessed Hope" is the rapture. Now is the day of salvation! Get saved NOW while you still have time!Lazarus - type of God the Holy Spirit - present down through ALL the ages of eternity - it is God’s Holy Spirit that raises up all the dead and quickens us with new life.Rene
