"Re: Jim Bramlett and reversal of Prophecy."

Hi Jim,

I just wanted to say that I don't believe that prophecy can be reveresed.  I do believe that if we think a prophecy has been reversed it is because we didn't understand the prophecy.  Just like the disciples on the road to Emmaus we may believe one thing is going to happen and suddenly we get a curve ball that causes us to question the prophecy.  They didn't expect Jesus to be killed but to ride triumphantly in and set up his kingdom.  Well we know now that his kingdom will come, but wasn't meant for that time.  Likewise with some of things you pointed out.

1)  I believe that when Moshe Dayan gave back the Temple Mount it was a fulfillment of prophecy, not a reversal.  We are told in Zechariah 12 that Jerusalem will become a stumbling block and cause all the nations around it to attack Israel.  That tells me that Jerusalem needs to be contested (or Divided).  Also, Jesus says in Luke 21 that Jerusalem will be given to the gentiles until the Times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.  According to Paul in Romans 11, when that happens all Israel will be saved.  We know that we are nearing the fulfillment of the Times of the Gentiles, but it isn't over yet (it will be any day now) so Jerusalem still must be "trodden down" by the Gentiles.   I see the acts of Moshe Dayan and the current Israeli Governernment as fulfilling the prophecies, not reversing them.

2)  This one goes with the Zechariah 12 prophecy, but I also believe there is a prophecy regarding Gaza and the last days in Zephaniah 2 and possibly in Amos 1.  In order for them to be fulfilled, Gaza needs to be against Israel.

3) and 4)  I do not believe that God will allow them to give up the land any more until the Antichrist comes and divides the land (Daniel 11:39).  Also, Joel 3 describes the battle of Armeggedon when God destroys those who parted the land.  We know he doesn't destroy Israel, but all the nations who come against it.  The fact that they are talking about dividing the land up, is furhter proof that Our Lord is coming in the very near future.

So don't be disheartned like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, but encouraged that God's Word is true and H will keep it.  I believe that God causes the Gog-Magog war to prevent Israel from dividing the land themselves.  God declares in Ezekiel 38 that he will turn Gog around (Russia was headed for democracy but has since returned to its former communist self) and pull him into battle.  Why does God cause that? I believe it is to punish those in Israel who are about to divide the land and to cause the Jews to wake up spiritually.  Most of Israel is secular, however in the conclusion of the war God pours out His spirit into them and re-awakens their desire for Him (and His temple).  Satan's main man will take advantage of this and make an agreement with the enemies of Israel to allow them to rebuild the temple.  We all know what takes place after that.
