"Faith in God's redemptive power"

It is a time to have faith in God's redemptive power.  He can save now
those who do not fully know HIm, who are hovering around the edges of
the Kingdom.

I have such a friend.  You all have such friends.  People who may have
been busy earning a living, not blessed to have enough time to take
Bible study and look there for Him.

My friend has been very busy.  His wife has cystic fibrosis, and had it
even when he married her long ago, and for years she's been in a
wheelchair, taken care of by my friend.

They had a daughter after seventeen years of trying, and the daughter
has been a great burden, as she is a modern teenager.

My friend also took care of his invalid mother and his invalid aunt, at
the same time he took care of his wife.

His mother occupied a part of the kitchen for years, in her own
cubbyhole, unable to move, bedridden.  My friend D. could have put her
in a nursing home but that would have ruined the family finances.  Same
case with his aunt, who was not bedridden, but lived in a bedroom a D's
house for quite a few years until her breath failed.

D. showed me how to put my husband's wheelchair on the chair lift at
the back of the car.  I was having trouble doing it, and not even the
salesman of the chairlift could show me how to do it easily.  It was
hurting my back to put it on the way the salesman showed me.  D. showed
me how in a split second--so easy when you are a very bright person
such as D., who has long experience with wheelchairs.

D. is still working, should retire soon, but doesn't want to really, as
he is "living day to day", not really understanding where he is going.
He is not a Christian, not a Jew (his wife is a Jew), not anything one
can pinpoint, but has complete respect for Christian and Jewish
culture, including Israel.

I pray for him as I would for the dear brother I never had.  And I have
faith that his redemption draweth nigh.

I just felt moved, Doves, to tell you about my dear friend who has
served like the Good Samaritan for many years.

God save him and his wife and child.
