Nations: Two New Ones  #532

During the late 1940's, the United Nations proposed, discussed, and voted on establishing two new nations. One was for Jewish people and one for Islamic people. This was in an area at the lower west end of the Mediterranean Sea.

Not much grew there, there was no industry there, and the few people there lived mostly a subsistence life of primitive hand farming or small herding. For this very reason there were few people and the land was not worth much. For this same reason the Jews had been purchasing land and moving there for years.

The Jews gladly accepted the offer made by the British (who controlled that area) and the U.N. and declared their independence (unnecessary since the British gave it to them), then formed a government in 1948. This all happened because the Jews had been fighting the British in that area for years plus most countries wanted some place in the world where Jews could have their own nation.

The new Jewish nation was tiny; only .06% of the Arab nations (not Islamic nations -only the Arab ones). Here are other ways to look at the smallness. As a true decimal it looks like this: .0006  As a fraction it looks like this: 1/600. The Jewish nation of Israel is so small that the Arab nations are 600 times larger and the total Islamic nations are more than 2000 times larger.

What happened to the other new nation the British gave the land for and the UN voted for? The Arab nations said, "NO!" They did not want the land (and money which followed) to help their Islamic people. their "Arab Higher Committee" member, Jamal Husseini, said they would fight until they soak "the soil of our beloved country with the last drop of our blood."

Arabs all attacked the Jews immediately in 1948 and lost. Arabs lost again in 1967. Since then they have attacked terrorism style and murdered civilians including women and children. There will be no peace there because they are not interested in their own land and peace. They care only about killing all Jews. They are driven by uncontrolled hate.
