"Shock! He said, "I am coming back""

Dear friends:

Last night my wife and I attended a neighborhood nondenominational Bible study that we discovered a few months ago.  The host is a retired Episcopalian pastor in his 60s.  Some years ago, after a dramatic experience with the Holy Spirit, he left the denomination and later worked several years on the pastoral staff of Benny Hinn ministries.

The pastor is an excellent Bible teacher.  We find ourselves in biblical agreement with him on almost everything.  One area of possible disagreement is that he seems to have had no interest in Bible prophecy, in which I am extremely interested.  In the past, 3-4 times I have cautiously and gently brought up the subject, but my thoughts were dismissed quickly, as though there was no interest, like most denominational pastors.  My comments did not register, evidenced by a glossy look in response.  Meek, mild, and humble person that I am, I did not want to be pushy, so I let it drop.  When I am in someone else's group, especially if I am new, I do not like to inject myself too much.

That's why last night was such a shock.  Before the regular teaching, the pastor shared that while in prayer the other day, the Lord suddenly spoke to him and said very clearly and distinctly, "I am coming back."

Those words were not part of his mental or theological framework, or lexicon.  It was obviously a very moving and unprecedented experience for him.  It took him outside his box.  He said he was stunned by it, and that it gave him a new perspective on everything.  I  can see why.  When you understand that God invaded human history 2,000 years ago, that radically changes your perspective on everything.  Then when you understand that He is about to invade history again, that radically changes your perspective again.

I take this as another confirmation that Jesus is coming soon!

Rejoice, the "desire of all nations" will soon be back on the scene (Haggai 2:7).
