My 7-year-old and 4-year-old boys were in my room yesterday talking to one another and out of the blue, my 4-year-old says, "Jesus is coming to get us in fifteen days." (He either said fifteen or sixteen I think, I don't remember for sure.) I turned and asked him what made him think that. He said, "I don't know, he is just coming to get us and take us to heaven in fifteen/sixteen days." Then he asked, "Dad, is that a long time?" I told him that no, it was just a little over two weeks. He said, "OK" and then the conversation was over.

Now I have mentioned to my boys once or twice in the past while reading Bible stories that Jesus would come and take us to heaven someday...but it's been a while since I've said anything, and I've never told them a date or that it is very soon.

I just thought it was interesting...what would have prompted him to say that, just out of nowhere?

(In the past few years we have had similar utterances from children that proved not accurate, but such things always get my attention.  Let us hope this one is accurate.)
