EDTA is the active ingredient in chelation therapy which is usually done intravenously.  EDTA can also be taken orally, but is not as quick or effective that way.  I have represented two doctors in Missouri who use it, have personally experienced its benefits, and have heard unbelievable testimonies from people suffering severe atherosclerosis before using it.
