"Psalm 23 - life guide"

Psalm 23 lesson

1.  Part One:  Map, Instructions, Teaching, How to get through this world 101 – God’s Sovereignty and love.  He knows everything that is happening to me and will happen, and what has happened, all of it for my good.

The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want (worry, have anxiety, fears, etc.)

He makes me lie down in green pastures and leads me beside the still waters (spiritual food and nourishment)

He restores my soul (gives me peace – YHWH Shalom!)

He leads me in paths of righteousness for his namesake (thank goodness – many of my decisions are dreadful!)

2.  Now that I know step one I can truly face my fears and win!  I can battle Goliath!  He has equipped me.  Not by Saul’s armor, but with shepherds clothes where I first met YHWH.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for Thou are with me, Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me (this world, this system, and so many personal situations – I can face my fears since I know he is my “Shepherd” he is spiritually feeding me and guiding me – he won’t let me fail – He is with me, but I still need to face my fears.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies (God is able to give us good things even in this world and in the middle of battle)

3.  Promises, Incentives, Faith and Hope and Love that will be realized face to face one day.  I can make it because it’s worth it and I believe in him and his word.  Nothing compares to the promise I have in him.

You anoint my head with oil (he has prepared us for royalty – children of God, what could be greater)

My cup runneth over (he gives me promises exceeding my greatest desires)

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord Forever! (If I were David I would be saying Yeah at this point, not before the valley of shadow of death – ha, ha, joking…I am so anxious to lay my eyes on our Heavenly Father and I know you are too!)

Blessings,
