"The Seven Hills of Rome"

John and Doves,

I have heard a lot of teaching and theory about who Babylon the Whore from Revelation is, and came across an interesting point from a Hal Lindsey article that I want to share.

And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. Revelation 17:6-9

From an article on Hal Lindsey's site:

Revelation chapter seventeen details the final judgment of the Mystical woman symbolically named Babylon the great. John the Apostle identifies the woman, “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits ...” and “And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:9, 18 NKJ) When John wrote this, there was only one city that reigned over the kings of the earth – ROME, which sits on seven hills.

I realize the passage says 7 mountains and not hills, though I'm not sure what the difference is. The article discusses Malachy's vision of the remaining 112 Popes before the End of the Age. John Paul was the 110th and the current one is the 111th according to the prophecy.
