"Wow!"
We attended a Vocal Arts Festival Concert last
night (Thursday) in which my 17 year old daughter had the privilege of
singing. As part of the festival the university voice faculty held
a competition and selected four of the student participants to sing prepared
solos for the evening concert. One young man's got up to sing and
announced his piece as Handel's "The Trumpet Shall Sound". This piece
is Handel's setting of Paul's description of the rapture from I Thessalonians
4: 16-17, and to top it off, later the Festival Choir sang a most beautiful
arrangement of Amazing Grace set to the tune of The Water is Wide (all
the verses of Amazing Grace were sung). What a blessing the whole
evening was. I couldn't help but consider that God certainly had
orchestrated that entire experience to let people know of his soon return
and the joy that we will all experience at His coming.
