"RE: RECOMMENDED SERMON by Paul Washer"

RE: RECOMMENDED SERMON presented to 5,000 teenagers by Paul Washer of
HeartCry Missionary Society

This sermon is awful! He basically scares the kids into thinking they
are not saved just because they listen to Britney Spears. Carnal
christians don't lose thier salvation and scaring people into thinking
the God is unable to save them is not the gospel. Washer has a strange
theology that is basically Calvinism without the eternal security part,
but rather you keep yourself saved by a life-long repentance and good
works. Bad theology. In Matthew Christ says to the goat Nations "I
never knew you" - hence not only are these nations, but they were NEVER
known by Jesus Christ. Washer needs to reread John 1:12 - anyone who
recieves Jesus Christ by believing on him is saved. End of story.
Nevertheless, there are many "good for nothing" Christians who don't
get any inherietance of reward in the Kingdom because they did not live
for Jesus, but they are still saved.

Loading Christian teenagers (or any Christian) up with more insecurity
and angst over their salvation is not the answer - give them a clear
message of the assurance they have in Christ so they will want to
respond by living right.
