Several people have written to ask if I'm ok. I am, but just can't get my FTP Client program to accept my password to upload to my main web site. I zapped my computer trying to install a DSL home network using house electric lines. Had to call an electrician and get a new computer. Now the password doesn't work. Neither does Ed's password to get his email. I'll go wireless next try to set up the network. Wish I'd never heard of DSL. It sounded like what I needed to avoid having to take turns going on the internat or using the phone. I didn't know when I was well off.
Re: the location of the Temple
More people think the Holy of Holies was built over the rock under the Dome of the Rock than any other location. The rock is wider than the temple was, so that won't work.
THE SIZE OF THE ROCK, NORTH TO SOUTH, IS 56 FEET.THE WIDTH OF THE HOLY OF HOLIES, NORTH TO SOUTH, WAS 37.9 FEET.
The end of the aqueduct and the location of the largest cistern, called the Great Sea, show that the Temple was in between what is now the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque. It looks like the Miphkad Altar, where the red heifer was burned, was due east of the Temple, a Sabbath-day's journey from the Temple, on or near the top of the Mt. of Olives, not far from Bethphage.
