When Up is Down and Black is White . . .

In the natural, events follow a certain, discernible logic. That is why we use terms like, “following the natural turn of events” to describe an outcome that is predictable and expected. Like in politics. When the polls indicate a particular voter trend, then following the natural turn of events, the votes will reflect that trend.

Spiritually, things tend to work in the exactly opposite of what one would expect in the natural. In the natural, when one surrenders, it means one has lost the conflict. Spiritually, when one surrenders (to Christ,) it means one has achieved victory.

The word 'yielding' means; “a. To give up, as in defeat; surrender or submit. b. To give way to pressure or force: The door yielded to a gentle push. c. To give way to argument, persuasion, influence, or entreaty. d. To give up one's place, as to one that is superior: yielded to the chairperson.”

In the natural, yielding is an expression of weakness. It is easier to yield than it is to resist.

Spiritually, yielding to Christ is an expression of strength. It is much harder to yield to Christ than it is to succumb to natural temptation. Do you follow?

A Christian obtains victory by surrender, strength by yielding, and enters into life through the process of death. When one is baptized, for example, one is 'buried' into the water as a symbol of death, and then 'raised up' out of the water as an expression of new life in the Spirit.

“. . . the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed,” says Isaiah 53:5.

By His 'chastisement' (punishment) we obtain peace. But His punishment was not for His offenses. He was blameless. His 'stripes' refers to the 39 lashes that laid His flesh open to the bone, but it was those lashes that healed us.

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1st Corinthians 2:14)

James tells us, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.” (James 1:2)

James also tells us, “Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:” (James 1:10)

Jesus told the Twelve that, “ If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.” (Mark 9:35)

In the natural, the servant is the lowest rank of society. Spiritually speaking, the servant is of the highest rank. Are you still with me?

The things of the Spirit can be discerned because the things of the Spirit are the opposite of what is natural.

Assessment:

When one applies that principle to what is happening in our world, one finds that nothing is following any kind of natural logical progression. (That is not to say that the Scriptures are illogical. The Scriptures reveal a completely different kind of logic, unique to the things of the Spirit.)

That is why God took the time to explain that; “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 55:8)

The United Nations is allegedly committed to fostering democracy throughout the world. That is its mission, according to its charter. The UN General Assembly grants each nation one vote. America's vote carries no more weight at the General Assembly than does the vote cast by Micronesia or the Marshall Islands or that of Lichtenstein.

At the Security Council level the US has a veto. But so do France, China, Russia and the UK. And the Security Council has fifteen members, all of whom vote on issues according to the classic rules of democracy. So, presumably, democracy is the bedrock of the UN's existence.

Israel provides an object lesson in the things of the Spirit not following the logic of the natural. It is the only pro-Western democracy in the Middle East, surrounded by a sea of anti-Western Islamic dictatorships sworn to the West's eventual destruction. Which side does the West embrace?

It doesn't make sense in the natural.

The Security Council passed a binding resolution giving Iran until August 31st to stop its nuclear enrichment program or face sanctions. Iran is an Islamic dictatorship that is sworn to the destruction of the Western world. It is the antithesis of the United Nations' bedrock principles. As such, a nuclear Iran is a greater threat to the UN than all the rest of the Islamic world put together.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has sworn to wipe Israel (the only pro-Western democracy in the Middle East) from the face of the earth. When Ahmadinejad laughed in the face of the Security Council, Kofi Annan went to Tehran for an official visit.

After meeting with Ahmadinejad, Kofi argued against his own Security Council resolution, saying, "The international community should not isolate Iran.” Instead of enforcing Security Council resolutions, Kofi says instead, “The world should count on Iran, not isolate it.”

What did Iran do to inspire Kofi's confidence? WHILE ANNAN WAS STILL THERE, Ahmadinejad announced Iran would host a conference to examine what it called “exaggerations” about the Holocaust. In what way does this fit into what one would naturally expect the leader of a global democratic organization to react to a conference aimed at de-legitimizing the only pro-Western democracy in the Middle East?

Kofi also announced, in part, to explain his willingness to overlook Iran's rejection of the UN Security Council's resolution, his satisfaction with Ahmadinejad's support for Resolution 1701 and Ahmadinejad 's willingness to 'help Lebanon rebuild' – totally ignoring the fact Ahmadinejad is ultimately the one most responsible for Lebanon's NEEDING to rebuild in the first place.

Annan's only other public statement was to call on Israel to adhere to Resolution 1701 by vacating Lebanon within 48 hours. Israel was bombarded by Iranian rockets fired by Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists who STILL HAVE THE ROCKETS. Annan told the “peacekeepers” they are FORBIDDEN to disarm Hezbollah.

Annan essentially GAVE PERMISSION to Iran to continue to process nuclear material, resupply Hezbollah and host an antisemitic conference while telling Israel to trust him to protect their security. And EVERYBODY is siding with Annan on this one.

The world is racing headlong toward a destiny that works completely against their best interests, simply because of its unreasoning hatred of that last reminder of God's Promise and provision for mankind, as represented by the existence of God's Chosen People in the Land He promised them.

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. . .” Paul tells us in Romans 1:28. To do those things that are literally 'against their own best interests.'

“Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” (Romans 1:32)

This is not natural. This is supernatural. The world has clearly turned a corner, and has started, eyes wide open, down the path that leads to the final conflict on the plains of Megiddo.

The only supernatural event yet to be fulfilled is the Rapture.
