Hi Doves,
I haven't posted in a while but I enjoy everyone's comments daily. I wanted to share with you some personal events taking place in my life regarding this upcoming Rosh Hashanna. I know it's personal to me but thought it might be of interest to fellow watchers. Perhaps some of you are having similar things happening.I've been a watcher since 1988 (charter member of the '88 Reasons alumni camp-lol!) Anyway - those of us watching back then really truly thought that was the year. In fact, my whole church (a small, family type body of saints who were totally in love with Jesus and longed deeply for His return). Well, you all know the outcome of '88 Reasons, and it resulted in the beginning of the demise of my wonderful church family. Shortly after Rosh Hashanna '88 my husband and I (because of the great wake-up call it was for us) quit our job and went into full time ministry.(We are still ministering today, reaching kids in public schools with the Gospel. That's why I cannot totally dismiss '88 Reasons as rubbish, God used it for good in my life). Anyway, while we were away at Bible college our pastor, feeling rejection because of his error, moved away; a false teacher replaced him, and over the next decade the flock got scattered. And sad to say, this past summer the church building was razed to make way for new homes. What a sad day indeed. Dennis and I have continued on, serving the Lord, but always with a longing in my heart for my former "family". We were so close, maybe more so because we were a mixed congregation, blacks and whites just loving Jesus and each other and longing to be with Him. What a testimony we were back then!
ANYWAY - on to what is happening! Through different circumstances brought on totally by the Lord, we are all going to be together this Rosh Hashanna! Dennis and I are having our first-ever banquet for our ministry on Friday evening the 22nd, and many of the saints from my former church will attend, including our pastor who is traveling several hundred miles to be here! Truly the Lord is doing this great thing. I won't go into all the details of how this happened but I just wanted to tell you all how amazing our God is. A desire of my heart has always been to be able to share our ministry with my real "family". What better evening than the evening of Rosh Hashanna! God is amazing, isn't He?
I would love to hear if any of you are experiencing a working of the Lord at this time in your life. He is definitely doing a great thing and I personally feel He has a special place in His heart for those of us who are longing so to see Him! Meeting the desires of our heart is His specialty!
