"This takes the cake!"

I have heard the empty arguments against the rapture but I have never heard this nonsense one before the other day.

The other day a TV preacher I have never seen before was answering viewers' questions sent in by letter.  One viewer asked, "How can I counter those who believe in the rapture?  Please give me a Scripture to use."

You won't believe how he answered!  This is incredible.

He said Ezekiel 13:20 proves the rapture is a false concept, obviously using the KJV: "Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly."  (He says the "fly" refers to what he called the false rapture teaching!  Can you believe that?)

The more literal NASB says, "Therefore, thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am against your magic bands by which you hunt lives there as birds, and I will tear them off your arms; and I will let them go, even those lives whom you hunt as birds."

The NIV says, "Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against your magic charms with which you ensnare people like birds and I will tear them from your arms; I will set free the people that you ensnare like birds."

Can you believe anyone could come up with such an interpretation?  This shows the desperation of the anti-rapture people and also the futility of relying solely on the KJV and giving it precedence over the inspired Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, as the KJ-only people typically do.
