I saw the Barbara Walters special interview, tonight September 27th, of Steve Irwin's wife Terri.  From her quotes, I tend to believe what Jim Bramlett posted on September 16th & 18th, 2006, that Steve Irwin did indeed become a Christian..
 
Terri said:
"I have tremendous faith in God that all things happen for a reason, even if we don't understand."  It's almost a paraphrase of Romans 8:28.
 
She told Bindi, her daughter (age 8):
"If anything ever happened to me, I will always watch over you from Heaven."
 
Her son, Bob, (age 2) walked toward a toy motorcycle with a screwdriver.  When she asked him what he was doing, he said:
"I'm fixing the motor bike so that Daddy can drive it from Heaven."
